Renderings have been released for a new 78,000-square-foot development in downtown Jersey City that could introduce a mix of residential, commercial, and outdoor space pending approvals from the Division of City Planning. Located at 163-165 Newark Avenue, the proposals include new construction as well as the restoration and reuse of an existing façade. The development also includes annexed components at the corner of Barrow Street and Christopher Columbus Drive.

JMH Development and Mettle Property Group recently celebrated the commencement of construction at 36-20 Steinway Street in Astoria, Queens. Local developer Joel Berkowitz has teamed up with ND Architecture & Design to construct a 12,000-square-foot mixed-use property in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Located on a large corner lot at 310 St. Nicholas Avenue, the five-story building will contain a cellar-level community center, 1,939 square feet of ground-floor retail, and 5,486 square feet of residential area positioned above.

Known officially as the Union Square Tech Training Center, the project is poised to accelerate the diversification of New York City’s technology sector through the provision of education facilities, vocational training, and on-site resources for local start-ups.
