New York University has revealed renderings of a new public health school set to debut as part of its Greenwich Village campus. Located three blocks east of Washington Square Park, the project will establish much-needed facilities for the university’s rapidly expanding School of Global Public Health which offers a multidisciplinary program preparing students to reinvent the world’s public health models.
Amazon has officially acquired the historic Lord & Taylor Building at 424 Fifth Avenue in Midtown, Manhattan. Although Amazon and WeWork, the building’s former owner, have not released any statements on the deal, the transaction is reportedly valued between $978 million and $1.15 billion.
Construction has kicked off on a six-story residential building at 245 Franklin Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. The structure will replace a single-story laundry business and will eventually top out at 65 feet tall. Designed by Charles Mallea, the building’s façade is comprised of red brick masonry with a black composite material at the roof level. The edge of the exterior along Franklin Avenue will feature large industrial-style windows and a series of private balconies.
The Namdar Group and Modern Spaces have officially launched leasing at MRK, a new 16-story rental tower in Jersey City. Located at 97 Newkirk Street, the building is the most recent rental property to debut in the city’s Journal Square neighborhood.
Move-ins will soon commence at 336-338 East 28th Street, a new four-story residential property in Flatbush, Brooklyn. The building has taken shape on an interior lot about 1.5 miles southeast of Prospect Park.
