J Frank Associates has released preliminary renderings of a recently approved residential development in Astoria, Queens. The seven-story building will be located on a 25,000-square-foot through-block lot at 26-30 4th Street.
In October, the city’s Public Design Commission voted to erect a large monument within Central Park honoring Sojourner Truth, Susan B. Anthony, and Elizabeth Cady Stanton as pioneers in support of women’s rights. The project team now returns to the Landmark Preservation Commission to request the removal of seven benches immediately in front of the monument and newly revealed text honoring the three historic figures.
The Hudson Yards section of Midtown West is now home to a new, 399-key Courtyard by Marriott hotel. The 28-story building is located at 461 West 34th Street and will be managed by property owner Endeavor Hospitality Group. The project team also includes Marx Development Group and architect DSM Design Group.
A crowning “Welcome” at 30 Columbia Heights, better known as Panorama, is now in full view above the Brooklyn Heights waterfront. The new sign replaces the iconic Watchtower sign that stood as a signifier of the now-removed Jehovah’s Witness headquarters that formerly occupied the building.
A nine-story mixed-use development at 58 Vanderbilt Avenue near the Brooklyn Navy Yard will soon kick off construction following approvals from the New York City Department of Buildings. From local developer Bruchy Lefkowitz, the building will top out at 107 feet and comprise approximately 106,000 square feet.
