Today’s housing lottery round-up features two buildings with affordable units on Housing Connect with deadlines closing within the next seven days. Unfortunately, an update to the Housing Connect website this week has apparently left the system rather glitchy, as it now lists incorrect numbers of units remaining, and the photos and renderings have similarly become defunct, all in the midst of New York City’s worst housing crisis since the 1930s.

DOB Greenlights Bethany Terraces, Affordable Senior Housing in East Flatbush, Brooklyn

The Department of Buildings recently approved plans for Bethany Terraces, a four-story affordable senior housing development at 604 East 40th Street in East Flatbush, Brooklyn. Developed by RiseBoro Community Partnership, which will operate the facility, and designed by Paul A. Castrucci Architects, the 39,200-square-foot project will be built to Passive House Standards.

The affordable housing lottery is open for 648 Midwood Street, a five-story residential development in Wingate, Brooklyn. Developed by Yedid Builders and designed by S Wieder Architect, the ten-unit building will yield 7,913 square feet with three units designated as affordable housing. Available on NYC Housing Connect is a one-bedroom and two two-bedroom units for residents at 130 percent of the area median income, ranging in eligible income from $76,835 to $159,640.
