New York-based real estate development firm Triangle Equities has secured $50 million in pre-development financing for a new multi-story logistics facility in College Point, Queens. The loan was arranged by JLL Capital Markets and provided by Centennial Bank. This financing marks an important step toward the development of the planned 425,000-square-foot industrial site located at 30-02 Whitestone Expressway.
SGA has revealed proposals for BioTech Tower, a 37-story life sciences skyscraper along Eleventh Avenue in Hudson Yards. The structure is planned to yield 650,000 square feet of research and development space, and will stand as the world’s tallest laboratory building.
Nationwide construction company Suffolk has announced the formation of Suffolk Sustainability Group, underscoring the company’s ambition to lead the nation in sustainable practices across the entire building lifecycle. To spearhead this effort, Suffolk has appointed Steven Burke as senior director of sustainability and Michael Swenson as director of sustainability for Suffolk Design, the contractor’s design-assist business unit.
A rendering has been revealed for 215-20 Northern Boulevard, a five-story mixed-use building in Bayside, Queens. Designed by Gerald Caliendo Architects and developed by Sam Eshaghoff’s West Egg Development, the structure will yield 38 units and 5,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space with 194 feet of frontage. Lions Group is the general contractor for the project, which is located at the corner of Northern Boulevard and 215th Place.
Camber Property Group, in collaboration with RiseBoro Community Partnership, has finalized a $75 million development deal for a new affordable housing project at 1601 DeKalb Avenue in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Designed by Aufgang Architects, the project plans to transform a previously vacant lot into a residential building with 127 units to be made available to residents earning between 40 and 100 percent of the area median income.
