Yesterday, the Landmark Preservation Commission reviewed the plans for a new 17-story residential building at 10 West 17th Street in Manhattan’s Ladies’ Mile Historic District in Flatiron. This site, once occupied by a mid-20th century commercial structure, is being transformed by Anbau, with architectural design by DXA Studio.
Construction is underway at 8 Chester Avenue, the site of a four-story residential building in downtown White Plains. Developed by Keeler Markwood Group, the nearly 60,000-square-foot structure will yield 74 rental units with nine reserved for affordable housing, as well as 40 on-site parking spaces.
New York City Economic Development Corporation has begun the Uniform Land Use Review Procedure for Phase 2 of the Willets Point development in Queens, a key project initiated by Mayor Eric Adams. This phase includes plans for 1,400 units of affordable housing, a new public school, 40,000 square feet of public open space, a privately financed soccer stadium, and a hotel.
Handel Architects has unveiled renderings for The Cottage, a 28-story mixed-use tower at 29 Cottage Street in Journal Square, Jersey City. The structure is planned to yield 669 residential units as well as 44,551 square feet of office space and 3,823 square feet of retail space.
