This extensive redevelopment aims to align the property with modern office space standards while preserving its historic essence. Ownership has enlisted JLL as the exclusive leasing agent for the property, which is located at the southeast corner of Fifth Avenue and East 43rd Street.

Designed by Elkus Manfredi, the 185,000-square-foot structure is located between West 50th and 51st Streets. The new development is supported by the New York City Industrial Development Agency and managed by the New York City Economic Development Corporation, and will feature laboratory, research, and office spaces.

Westchester LDC Approves $52M Bond Financing for NY Blood Center’s $108M Project

The Westchester County Local Development Corporation (LDC) has given preliminary approval for $52 million in tax-exempt bond financing to assist the New York Blood Center Inc. in redeveloping the former Avon headquarters at at 601 Midland Avenue in Rye. The approval, which was granted October 20, will facilitate the transformation of the old headquarters into a 187,000-square-foot facility, entirely leased to the New York Blood Center for offices, testing and research laboratories, along with processing, storage, and distribution of blood and related supplies.

The Soloviev Group has announced the inclusion of 513 affordable housing units within the proposed Freedom Plaza in Manhattan, significantly contributing to the city’s inclusionary housing efforts. Located from 38th to 41st Streets east of First Avenue and covering over six acres in Midtown East, the ambitious mixed-use development was already slated to feature 4.77 acres of green space, a museum, shopping and restaurants, and a hotel. Now with the inclusion of the affordable units, it also stands to be one of Manhattan’s largest inclusionary housing initiatives in more than a decade.
