A consortium of engineers and traffic planners have teamed up on proposals to construct a series of vehicle-free “ribbon” bridges connecting Manhattan to the outer boroughs and New Jersey. The group is led by Samuel Schwartz, former Traffic Commissioner of New York City’s Department of Transportation.
Leasing has officially kicked off at The Bridge, a newly renovated commercial property located near the southern boundary of Long Island City. The seven-story building is located at 24-02 49th Avenue and comprises approximately 830,000 square feet.
Construction has topped out on Queens Plaza Park, aka Sven, a 762-foot-tall mixed-use skyscraper at 29-37 41st Avenue in Long Island City. Designed by Handel Architects for The Durst Organization, the 67-story tower now stands as the second-tallest building in Queens.
Foundation work has begun at 30-77 Vernon Boulevard, a three-building residential project in Astoria, Queens. Designed by Fogarty Finger Architects and developed by Cape Advisors and Wainbridge Capital, the interconnected structures will eventually span 522,000 square feet or approximately two-and-a-half acres of waterfront property.
J Frankl Associates has released final renderings of a newly approved residential development in Astoria, Queens. Located at 26-30 4th Street, the building is positioned on a 25,000-square-foot through lot and will eventually top out at seven stories.
