Renderings Released for Second Phase of Resorts World Casino in Ozone Park, Queens

Resorts World Casino released new renderings of its second phase in South Ozone Park, Queens. It has also announced that Plaza Construction will be the lead construction manager of the ten-story expansion project. The future four-star hotel will have 400 rooms, a two-story main entrance, an additional gaming room, conference and meeting areas, a fitness center, more dining options, and retail space. In total, this 500,000-square-foot addition is expected to create 1,000 new construction jobs. Work has already progressed to the second floor, and the first part of the expansion is set to open later this summer. Perkins Eastman is designing the new phase while Cosentini Associates is the MEP engineer. DeSimone is the structural engineer and Langan is the civil engineer.

Permits Filed For 13-38 Central Avenue in Far Rockaway, Queens

Permits have been filed for a nine-story mixed-use residential and commercial building at 13-28 Central Avenue in Far Rockaway, Queens. The 42,758-square foot lot is located at the intersection of Central Avenue and Nameoke Street. The proposed scope for the new project is around 195,000 square feet. The site is close to the Far Rockaway – Mott Avenue subway station at the end of the A line. Ericka Keller-Wala of Brisa MPB Community Square LLC is listed as the owner of the site. Paul Castrucci Architect is listed as the designer, while William Vitacco Associates, LTD filed the permits.

Leasing has officially launched for a new, two-towered development by The Durst Organization in Astoria, Queens. Located at 10 Halletts Point, the 22 and 19-story towers are just the first components of a sprawling, seven-building development that will eventually comprise 2.4 million square feet. It will include more than 2,100 apartments, affordable housing, a public waterfront esplanade, and retail area.
