Plans have been revealed for 670 new affordable apartments within two buildings in Downtown Far Rockaway, Queens. The project comes as part of the neighborhood’s rezoning announced last September. The NYC Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) along with the Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD), and the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) jointly announced the project.
Greystone Development‘s most recent residential project has now topped-off at 24-16 Queens Plaza South. Located in Long Island City, the 23-story tower will eventually comprise over 100,000 square feet, yielding 117 residential units and a full suite of amenities including an open-air rooftop deck, a pool, a fitness center, co-working spaces, and more to be announced upon completion. Excavation has officially wrapped and a rendering has been revealed for Long Island City’s “Triangle” residential building, located at 43-12 Hunter Street. When complete, the project will stand 18 stories over Long Island City and will introduce 123 rental units to the expanding community. The Court Square Blog first reported on the progress.
Permits filed for 11-52 44th Drive in Long Island City reveal a new seven-story development in the bustling Queens community. The mixed-use structure will contain both commercial and residential space for a total built area of 15,341 square feet.
Since 2010, Long Island City, Queens has given rise to nearly 50 new hotels. Permits filed by developer Dun Zhang reveal yet another large-scale project coming to the neighborhood, at 37-10 10th Street.
