Designed by Handel Architects and developed by Taconic Partners under the 311 West 42nd Street Associates LLC, the 373,133-square-foot development will rise directly to the north of Port Authority Bus Terminal and will yield 321 apartments averaging 839 square feet apiece as well as 25,202 square feet of retail space.

Construction on the ground-up Margaritaville Resort New York at 560 Seventh Avenue wraps up work in Times Square. Designed by Stonehill Taylor and developed by Sharif El-Gamal of Soho Properties along with MHP Real Estate Services, the topped out 32-story, 375-foot-tall tower looks like it will open in the coming months and yield 234 guest rooms with island-inspired interior designs. The Midtown, Manhattan project is located at the corner of Seventh Avenue and West 40th Street and is expected to cost around $300 million. The McBride Company is handling the interiors.

Façade work has reached the crown of 150 East 78th Street, a 16-story residential building on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Developed by Midwood Investment & Development and EJS Group and designed by Robert A. M. Stern Architects with Ismael Leyva Architects as executive architect and residential layout designer, the 205-foot-tall property will yield 25 units ranging from three- to five-bedroom condominiums. Construction has topped out on 200 East 83rd Street, a 449-foot-tall residential tower designed by Robert A.M. Stern on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Developed by Naftali Group and Rockefeller Group, the 243,128-square-foot structure rises 35 stories and will yield 86 units spread over 205,877 square feet, for an average scope of 2,393 square feet. SLCE Architects is the architect of record for the project, which is located at the corner of Third Avenue and East 83rd Street.

270 Park Avenue’s Demolition is Complete While New Steel Superstructure Rises in Midtown East

Demolition of the Union Carbide Building, JP Morgan Chase‘s former 52-story, 707-foot-tall headquarters at 270 Park Avenue, is now complete as work progresses on its supertall replacement. The remnants of the core and lower levels of the mid-century skyscraper were quickly dismantled and removed since our last update on the Midtown East project just a mere month ago. Meanwhile, on the opposite side of the full-block parcel, steelwork is continuing on the new 2.5 million-square-foot, 1,425-foot-tall tower, which will become one of the tallest structures in New York City. The large rectangular site is bound by Park Avenue to the east, Madison Avenue to the west, East 47th Street to the south, and East 48th Street to the north.
