GDSNY recently finished pouring the concrete foundation slab of 1245 Broadway, where a 22-story SOM-designed commercial office building is set to rise. The future 318-foot-tall, 200,000-square-foot NoMad project is being built by Triton Construction and co-developed by Sweden-based Klovern. CBRE is in charge of leasing both the office area and the ground-floor retail space.
Workers are forming the reinforced concrete columns and floor slabs for 249 East 50th Street as construction has risen above street level in Midtown East. The 15-story, 151-foot-tall residential project is designed by Isaac Stern and is being developed by Tun Kyaw, who purchased the land for $17 million.
Extell, the developer behind some of the most prominent projects in New York City such as Central Park Tower, One57, Brooklyn Point, and One Manhattan Square, recently filed demolition permits for two four-story structures at 724 and 726 Eighth Avenue. Located at the busy corner of West 45th Street and Eighth Avenue, the block-wide development stirred interest in early 2018 when a concept proposal was release. Construction is moving along smoothly on the Pendry Hotel, aka 4 Manhattan West. The reinforced concrete superstructure of the 21-story Midtown West development has risen past the halfway mark, and installation of its distinctive wavy façade has begun on the northern and western elevations. The mixed-use project, which is designed by Skidmore Owings & Merrill and developed by Brookfield Properties, is slated to offer 164 guest rooms and a selection of condominiums on its upper floors.
Mortar Architecture + Development has revealed renderings of a seven-story, residential building in Hell’s Kitchen. Located mid-block between Ninth and Tenth Avenues at 422 West 49th Street, the development will replace a 2,500-square-foot parking lot wedged between two mid-rise buildings. At seven stories, the new structure will eclipse its neighbors in height.
