CetraRuddy’s Two-Tower Development at 520 West 41st Street Set for Construction in Midtown West

Coming in at number 23 on our countdown of the tallest construction projects underway in New York City is 520 West 41st Street. YIMBY previously reported an exclusive rendering reveal for a possible two-tower mixed-use development at the Midtown West site, with the taller structure potentially rising 758 feet tall. Owner and developer Silverstein Properties called on CetraRuddy Architecture to create a pair of offset glass skyscrapers on the property near the edge of the Manhattan waterfront, and there have been a number of design changes over the past several years. Leeding Builders Group will be the general contractor.

Foundation Work Continues at FXCollaborative’s 601 West 29th Street in Hudson Yards

Work is continuing on the pilings for 601 West 29th Street, the site of a 695-foot-tall residential skyscraper and the 28th tallest building currently under construction in New York City. Located at the corner of West 29th Street and Eleventh Avenue on the border of Hudson Yards and the rising High Line-adjacent developments of West Chelsea, the project is designed by FXCollaborative and developed by Douglaston Development. The 58-story structure is also known as Tower A in a two-building development on the rectangular parcel.

Foundations For Davis Brody Bond’s 124 East 14th Street Progressing in Union Square

The reinforced concrete foundations for Davis Brody Bond‘s 21-story tech hub at 124 East 14th Street is taking shape and climbing toward street level. Located just east of Union Square, the development is officially known as the Union Square Tech Training Center. The 254,000-square-foot project will include a mix of affordable and market-rate office space for tech companies, retail, and dining facilities managed by Urbanspace. Private entities RAL Development and Suffolk Construction are also part of the project team.

New Rendering for JPMorgan Chase’s Future Midtown East Headquarters at 270 Park Avenue

Last month, YIMBY posted the first look at plans and renderings for 270 Park Avenue, which will become the future headquarters for JPMorgan Chase. The structural behemoth will become one of the largest office buildings in the Five Boroughs upon completion, totaling 2.5 million square feet and rising approximately 1,425 feet to its pinnacle. Today, we have another look at the project thanks to visualization firm ATCHAIN. While this image is the most refined of what has been revealed to date, differences in the silhouette between this version and the one leaked in a JPMorgan Chase report accompanying YIMBY’s last post indicate that this specific version could already be outdated relative to the previous reveal.
