The Fashion Institute of Technology has been granted $74 million from the de Blasio administration to build a 10-story, 100,000 square-foot complex connected to the Martin Feldmen Center on West 28th Street in Chelsea. Plans have been in the works for years, and construction is expected to kick off next year. SHoP is designing the project, reports Curbed.
Property owner Dimitrios Kourpas has filed applications for two four-story, four-unit residential buildings spanning 111-13 – 111-15 41st Avenue, in North Corona. The total of eight residential units will divide nearly 6,900 square feet; Frank Petruso is designing. A single-story garage was demolished in 2013, but an existing 2.5-story structure at No. 111-15 must first be removed.
Back in August of 2014, YIMBY brought you news about a five-story, eight-unit mixed-use building planned at 1967 Bedford Avenue, in Prospect Lefferts Gardens. Now The Q At Parkside spotted renderings for the project, which is being designing by Gerald Caliendo. The lot is currently vacant, and completion is expected in Fall 2016.
The Lightstone Group’s expansive 700-unit mixed-use development at the properties 363 and 365 Bond Street, in Gowanus, was taking shape in April, and now cladding is being installed on a six-story portion, reports Brownstoner. Two structures will rise up to 12 stories along the canal, and Goldstein, Hill and West is designing the project. Completion is expected by early 2017.
