520 Fifth Avenue’s Arched Façade Climbs Higher in Midtown, Manhattan

Vertical construction and façade installation are progressing on 520 Fifth Avenue, an 88-story residential supertall skyscraper in Midtown, Manhattan. Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox and developed by Rabina, the 1,002-foot-tall structure will span 415,000 square feet and yield 100 condominium units, a residents-only amenity floor on level 88, boutique office floors, a private members-only club called Moss, and four cellar levels. The project is located at the corner of Fifth Avenue and West 43rd Street, one block north of Bryant Park.

FIAT House Reaches Completion At 2100 North Central Road In Fort Lee, New Jersey

UNLMTD Real Estate recently celebrated the completion of FIAT House, a new residential building located at 2100 North Central Road in Fort Lee, New Jersey. The development is the first FIAT-branded residential building globally, and contains more than 300 units ranging from studio to three-bedroom configurations.

The affordable housing lottery has launched for Attorney Street Apartments, a 15-story residential building at 165 Broome Street on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Designed by Handel Architects and developed by Grand Street Guild Housing Development Fund Company, Grand Street Guild East Housing Development Fund Company, Southeast Grand Street Guild Housing Development Fund Company, and Clinton Broome Development LLC, the structure yields 235 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 196 units for residents at 30 to 80 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $18,480 to $154,080.

Construction has topped out on The Orchard, an 823-foot-tall residential skyscraper at 42-22 Orchard Street in Long Island City, Queens. The 69-story structure is now officially the tallest structure in the borough, taking the title from the Skyline Tower at 23-15 44th Drive.

The Durst Organization recently announced that Pueblo Querido Coffee Roasters, a Colombian coffee proprietor and restaurant, has opened its first Queens location on the ground floor of Sven, a residential tower at 29-37 41st Avenue in Long Island City, Queens. Pueblo Querido is joining Finback Brewery and ACA Acupuncture and Wellness, the other ground-floor tenants of the 71-story property.

Designed by Morris Adjmi Architects and developed and built by Skyline Developers, which purchased the property for $83 million in 2017 under the 18 West 55th Street LLC, the 289-foot-tall structure will span 152,084 square feet and yield 97 rental units with an average scope of 1,319 square feet, as well as 6,380 square feet of ground-floor commercial space and a 10,343-square-foot cellar level. The project is located on a formerly vacant interior lot between Fifth and Sixth Avenues, next to the Peninsula Hotel.

Bushwick Inlet Park Takes Shape Along Waterfront in Williamsburg, Brooklyn

Work is progressing on the expansion of Bushwick Inlet Park in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Designed by Abel Bainnson Butz, LLP and developed by the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation and the non-profit group Friends of Bushwick Inlet Park, the $9.8 million project involves the transformation of a two-acre parcel known as Motiva at the northernmost end of the waterfront park. Construction broke ground in March on the property, which had formerly sat unutilized and overgrown, and environmental remediation efforts are being undertaken in parallel with the park’s construction. The park is being created as part of the nearly 40-acre Greenpoint-Williamsburg Open Space Master Plan and is bound by Quay Street to the north and Franklin Street to the east.
