Plans For 1.2-Million-Square-Foot Office Tower Gain Steam At 136 Greene Street, Jersey City

Mack-Cali Realty Corporation has announced its partnership with SJP Properties to develop Harborside 4, a 1.2-million-square-foot office tower long-proposed at 136 Greene Street, in the Exchange Place district of downtown Jersey City. The development team won’t break ground on the tower until an anchor tenant has signed on, Real Estate NJ reported. The site, bound by Christopher Columbus Drive, and Greene, Pearl, and Hudson streets, is currently a parking lot.

Two-Building, 119-Unit Residential Redevelopment Planned At 163 Bloomfield Avenue, Verona, New Jersey

A joint venture between Carlstadt, N.J.-based Russo Development and Woodbridge, N.J.-based Dinallo Construction is planning to convert the four-story industrial building at 163 Bloomfield Avenue, in Verona, N.J., in Essex County, into a 51-unit residential building. Plans also include the construction of a ground-up, five-story, 68-unit residential building next door.

216-Unit Redevelopment Proposed For Abandoned 25-Story Building At 440 Elizabeth Avenue, Newark

The Ishay Group is proposing to redevelop the long-vacant, 25-story, 246,600-square-foot Carmel Towers building at 440 Elizabeth Avenue, also known as 203-221 Meeker Avenue, in Newark’s South Ward. The dilapidated tower would contain 216 residential units ranging from one- to three-bedrooms, Jersey Digs reported. Amenities would include a lounge, entertainment room, pool, fitness center, roof deck, and community garden. Mancini Duffy Architecture is behind the renovation’s design. The project must first be approved by the Newark Central Planning Board, which is scheduled to hold a meeting on October 24.
