New Jersey Performing Arts Center Unveils Plans to Build Residential Developments on its Newark Campus

The New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) in Newark has big plans to diversify its campus with residential developments and a dining venue, as well as the construction of an arts and education center. The proposed buildings are part of the performing center’s goal to become a city lifestyle destination and further the cultural hub’s impact on the downtown neighborhood. L + M Development Partners has teamed up with NJPAC and Larchmont for the 7.3-acre campus expansion. Skidmore, Owings & Merrill is responsible for the design of the buildings and streetscapes. NJPAC purchased the property from the state of New Jersey in December 2018.

Ground Breaks on 722 Chancellor Avenue, a 100-Percent Affordable Housing Development in Irvington, New Jersey

Construction began last week on 722 Chancellor Avenue in Irvington, New Jersey. Developed through a partnership with The NRP Group and northern New Jersey developer Adenah Bayoh, the five-story building will add 56 affordable housing units to the community. Vantage Collection’s 1 Park View Avenue Completes Construction in Jersey City

Construction has reached completion on the second phase of The Vantage Collection, a two-tower residential complex in Jersey City. Addressed as 1 Park View Avenue, the rectangular 44-story residential tower is an exact architectural twin of its adjacent sibling, 33 Park View Avenue, and the two are connected by a podium with 15,000 square feet of retail space. The complex as a whole is designed by S9 Architecture and developed by Fisher Organization, and yields 900 apartments. 1 Park View Avenue features 452 homes that range from studios to two-bedroom units, with the majority offering unobstructed views of the New York Harbor and year-round daylight exposure. The buildings sit on a full-block parcel bound by Park View Avenue to the north, Marin Boulevard to the east, South Cove to the south, and St. Peter’s Street to the west. Leasing has begun for both towers, and the gallery is located at 33 Park View Avenue.

Exterior work is nearing completion on 88 Regent Street, a 32-story mixed-use tower in the Liberty Harbor North Redevelopment in Jersey City. Designed by Marchetto Higgins Stieve and developed by 88 Regent Street, LLC, the project will yield 392 rental apartments, 9,110 square feet of retail space, and 5,595 square feet of commercial office space. The site is located at the corner of Regent Street and Jersey Avenue, directly across from the Jersey Avenue light rail station and the Jersey City Medical Center.
