Permits Filed for 68-Story Tower at 242 Hudson Street in Jersey City

Permits have been filed for a 68-story mixed-use skyscraper at 242 Hudson Street in Jersey City. If approved, the 708-foot-tall building would be among the tallest structures in the state of New Jersey. Plaza VIII & IX Associates LLC, a subsidiary of Mack-Cali’s Roseland Residential Trust, is responsible for the development, which has previously been referred to as Harborside 8 and 9.

The Lively Nears Completion at 321 Warren Street in Jersey City

Work is wrapping up on the exterior of The Lively at 321 Warren Street in Jersey City’s Powerhouse Arts District as the 18-story, mixed-use structure nears completion. Designed by Fogarty Finger Architecture and developed by LMC, the box-shaped, light-colored structure will contain 180 apartments, 1,343 square feet of ground-floor retail, and a 14,200-square-foot black-box theater with dedicated space for local artists. The property sits in the heart of downtown Jersey City, steps away from the Grove Street PATH station.

159 Morgan Street’s Façade Continues to Rise in Jersey City

Façade work is continuing on the forthcoming Canopy by Hilton hotel at 159 Morgan Street in Downtown Jersey City. The ground-up, reinforced concrete structure is topped out at ten stories and will yield a total of 211 rooms. The project includes a rooftop bar and 6,500 square feet of ground-floor retail space, with the main lobby located on the second floor and connected to street level by an elevator. KABR Group is the developer of the property, which will be the first Canopy by Hilton location in New Jersey. Katerra is in charge of construction of the mixed-use building.

Construction has begun on 351 Marin Boulevard, a 38-story mixed-use development in Downtown Jersey City. Located between 1st Street and Bay Street, the tower will bring 507 residential units, 8,000 square feet of commercial space, 203 parking spaces, and a 4,500-square-foot public plaza to the area. Designed by Hollwich Kushner in collaboration with HLW International, 351 Marin is a joint venture between developer KRE Group and Northwestern Mutual.

Renderings Revealed for 70-Story Avalon Tower at 444 Washington Boulevard in Jersey City

Renderings have been revealed of Avalon Tower, a 70-story skyscraper that will be one of the tallest structures to rise in Jersey City and all of the state. Approved last month, the 950-unit building will be located at 444 Washington Boulevard near the Hudson River Waterfront Walkway. The developer, known as Tower Cove Jersey City Urban Renewal, plans to build the tower on the northwest corner of the site, which is currently occupied by a parking lot. Part of the project includes public spaces called the East Coast Greenway Plaza and Overlook Plaza along Thomas Gangemi Drive that will offer Manhattan skyline views, a pedestrian terrace, a children’s play area, and a dog run.
