A new mixed-use project is currently under construction at 237 McGuinness Boulevard in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. The development, which began construction in October, is progressing rapidly, with excavation of the site nearing completion.
Permits have been filed for an eight-story mixed-use building at 2611 Pitkin Avenue in East New York, Brooklyn. Located between Logan Street and Fountain Avenue, the lot is three blocks from the Euclid Avenue subway station, serviced by the A and C trains. Housing Works is listed as the owner behind the applications.
Demolition is underway on the Hudson Avenue Generating Station, the site of Con Edison’s Brooklyn Clean Energy Hub in Vinegar Hill. Dubbed “The Hub,” the transmission substation will be capable of powering around 750,000 homes with up to 1,500 megawatts of electricity from offshore wind power. ConEdison designed the new structure to allow for future expandability, with a maximum processing capacity of 6,000 megawatts. The site is bound by Marshall Street to the south, Hudson Avenue to the east, and Gold Street and the Con Edison Farragut Station to the west. A groundbreaking ceremony was held last September and construction is expected to begin around the middle of this year.
An affordable housing lottery waiting list has launched for Rose Castle, a nine-story mixed-use building at 31 Little Nassau Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Designed by Archimaera Architecture and developed by Riverside Developers, the structure yields 86 residences. Available on NYC Housing Connect is a waiting list to fill current and future vacancies for the 77 units for residents at 70, 90, and 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $49,273 to $198,250.
