The past few months have seen construction kick into high gear at several sites along and adjacent to the 57th Street corridor, and now 111 West 57th Street will join the pack. Interior demolition and excavation began last year, and now the tower’s crane has arrived on-site, signaling its impending verticality.
Last month, YIMBY posted the first renderings for the tower coming to 36 Central Park South, on the site of the old Helmsley Hotel. The first version was created by Handel Architects, and the second — which we only had a glimpse of — was designed by Herzog & de Meuron, and we now have additional images of that version.

A sliver lot on the northwest corner of Ninth Avenue and 33rd Street has remained vacant for quite some time, but YIMBY now has the reveal for the building that will soon rise at 411 Ninth Avenue. HTO Architect is designing the project, which has been dubbed Skylight House.
With the first of Related’s Hudson Yards towers now inching towards its pinnacle, it should come as no surprise that other developers with nearby sites are also beginning to move ahead with plans of their own. Kuafu Properties and Siras Development are building a 700-foot tall 42-story mixed-use tower at 470 Eleventh Avenue, between 37th and 38th Streets, and YIMBY has a fresh set of close-up renderings that also show some slight modifications to the “lantern-inspired” design.
