Two Manhattan West Completes Construction in Midtown West, Manhattan

Construction is complete on Two Manhattan West, a 58-story commercial skyscraper in Midtown West. Designed by Skidmore Owings & Merrill and developed by Brookfield, the 935-foot-tall structure is the final component in the five-building Manhattan West master plan and yields 1.9 million square feet of office space directly to the south of its 996-foot supertall fraternal twin, One Manhattan West. W&W Glass is the facade contractor and AECOM Tishman was the general contractor for the Midtown, Manhattan project, which is located at the northwest corner of West 31st Street and Ninth Avenue, between Hudson Yards to the west and the James A. 1,046-Key Hilton Readies for Grand Opening at 150 West 48th Street in Times Square, Manhattan

Construction is wrapping up on 150 West 48th Street, a 38-story triple-brand Hilton hotel tower in Times Square. Designed by Gene Kaufman Architect and developed by Sam Chang of McSam Hotel Group, the 418-foot-tall, 320,000-square-foot structure will yield 1,046 hotel rooms across the Hampton Inn, Home 2 Suites, and Motto Hotel, Hilton’s newest brand of micro-hotels. McSam Hotel Group purchased the Midtown site for $140 million from Rockefeller Group in early 2019 and received a $250 million loan before construction broke ground the following year. Omnibuild was the general contractor for the project, which is located by the corner of West 48th Street and Seventh Avenue.

TSX Broadway’s Tempo by Hilton Prepares For Late-Summer Opening at 1568 Broadway in Times Square, Manhattan

Construction on TSX Broadway, a 47-story hotel tower at 1568 Broadway in Times Square, reached a milestone as crews turned on TSX Entertainment’s 18,000-square-foot podium LED display. Designed by Perkins Eastman and Mancini Duffy and developed by L&L Holding Company and Fortress Investment Group, the 550,000-square-foot structure will yield 661 hotel rooms operated by Tempo by Hilton, as well as 100,000 square feet of retail space on the lower levels and Times Square’s only cantilevering outdoor performance stage. Positioned above the new retail space is the historic Palace Theater, which was renovated by PBDW Architects and lifted 30 feet above street level in early 2022. Pavarini McGovern is the general contractor for the property, which is located at the corner of Seventh Avenue and West 47th Street.

Silverstein Properties and Parx Casino Reveal The Avenir at 514 Eleventh Avenue in Midtown, Manhattan

A new set of renderings has been revealed for The Avenir, Silverstein Properties and Parx Casino’s bid for a 1.8-million-square-foot hotel, gaming, entertainment, and residential complex at 514 Eleventh Avenue in Midtown, Manhattan. Designed by Steelman Partners and CetraRuddy, the 46-story two-tower complex will yield 1,000 guests rooms, more than 100 affordable housing units reserved for New Yorkers, 12 full-service restaurants, an elevated 1,000-seat performance hall, and an eight-story, 600,000-square-foot podium. The project aims to create 4,000 union construction jobs, over 5,500 permanent union jobs, and billions of dollars in economic development for the state and city. The property, owned by Silverstein since 1984 and alternatively addressed as 520 West 41st Street, spans a full block between West 40th and West 41st Streets and Eleventh and Galvin Avenues, just north of the Jacob K. Javits Center. The plot has sat vacant for the last eight years, and the development team expects the project to be shovel ready upon approval.

Façade installation has reached the Art Deco-inspired crown of Monogram New York, a 35-story residential skyscraper at 135 East 47th Street in Midtown East. Designed by Ismael Leyva Architects and developed by Navigation Capital Group, the 500-foot-tall structure will yield 191 condominium units designed by Shanghai-based Neri & Hu in studio to two-bedroom penthouse layouts, as well as 5,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space. Anthology Group is the hospitality partner and Cauldwell Wingate is the general contractor for the tower, which is located between Lexington and Third Avenues. CORE is handling sales and marketing of the units with asking prices ranging from under $1 million to $5 million for the four-bedroom penthouses.
