Curtain wall installation is getting closer to completion on the Margaritaville Resort at 560 Seventh Avenue in Times Square. Designed by Stonehill Taylor and developed by Sharif El-Gamal of Soho Properties along with MHP Real Estate Services, the nearly $300 million project stands topped out at 29 stories on the corner of Seventh avenue and West 40th Street. The property will contain a total of 234 hotel rooms.
Construction on the Hard Rock Hotel has made a good amount of progress since YIMBY’s last update in January. Located at 159 West 48th Street in Times Square between Sixth Avenue and Seventh Avenue, the 225,000-square-foot, 442-foot high, 445-room hotel is designed by Berg + Moss Architects and is being developed by Extell and Hard Rock International.
Marx Realty has announced an extensive renovation project at 545 Madison Avenue to modernize the Midtown office building. The scope of work includes an overhaul of the lobby, creation of pre-built tenant suites on the third and 14th floors, and the construction of 5,000 square feet of new amenity spaces. According to representatives from the company, total construction costs for the project hover around $24 million and represent the growing demand for offices with hospitality-oriented amenities.
Façade work is nearing completion on the Virgin Hotel at 1225 Broadway in NoMad. Designed by Stantec and developed by Lam Group, the 38-story, 476-foot-tall structure will yield 300,000 square feet with 460 hotel rooms. Sir Richard Branson of Virgin Group will be in charge of managing the property, which is the first Virgin Hotel in New York City.
Progress on the NoMad Ritz Carlton Hotel is soon going to reach its pinnacle. Located at 1185 Broadway at the northern intersection of West 28th Street and Broadway, the superstructure will culminate 580 feet above Midtown, yielding 150,000 square feet and 250 guest rooms. The 40-story skyscraper is designed by Rafael Vinoly and developed by Marriott, Ritz Carlton Hotels, and Flag Luxury Properties. The interiors are being designed by Yabu Pushelberg.
