Construction has begun on the first phase of the redevelopment of 120 Park Avenue, a 26-story commercial building in Midtown, Manhattan across from Grand Central Terminal. Designed by MdeAS Architects and developed by Global Holdings, the project involves renovations to the building’s façade and the construction of new double-height loggia terraces on the fifth and sixth floors of the Class A office building. Turner Construction is the general contractor for the property, which is located at the intersection of Park Avenue and 42nd Street.

Excavation is moving along at 100 West 37th Street, the site of a 68-story mixed-use skyscraper in the Garment District of Midtown, Manhattan. Designed by C3D Architecture and developed by Sioni Group under the 989 Sixth Realty LLC, the 743-foot-tall structure will span 384,118 square feet and yield 300 condominium units with an average scope of 991 square feet, as well as 86,817 square feet of commercial space and two cellar levels. Northeast Specialist Group was the demolition contractor for the corner property, which is alternately addressed as 989-993 Sixth Avenue and located at the intersection of Sixth Avenue and West 37th Street.

New renderings have been released showcasing a design change for the Xadia Hotel, a 42-story hotel tower currently rising at 57 West 39th Street in Midtown, Manhattan. Designed by Marin Architects and developed by Wei Hong Hu under the H Hotel LLC, the 475-foot-tall structure will yield 173 guest rooms and amenities including a restaurant, an arcade, and a rooftop bar. Designed by S9 Architecture with SLCE as the architect of record and developed by Jamestown, the $500 million project involves the full gut renovation and re-cladding of the 120-year-old, 395-foot-tall steel-framed structure, along with the addition of new LED displays and public viewing decks with platforms that will overlook the district.
