Three Hudson Boulevard Remains Stalled in Hudson Yards, Manhattan

Continuing our Turkey Week rundown of on-hold projects in New York City is Three Hudson Boulevard, a planned 56-story office skyscraper in the Hudson Yards district. Designed by FXCollaborative and developed by Boston Properties and The Moinian Group, the $3 billion project was planned to rise 940 feet tall and yield 1.86 million square feet of office space, but has been stalled since early 2020. The property occupies a full city block bound by West 35th Street to the north, West 34th Street to the south, Bella Abzug Park to the east, and Eleventh Avenue to the west.

Aloft Hotel’s Glass Façade Nears Completion at 450 Eleventh Avenue in Hudson Yards, Manhattan

Façade work is nearing the finish line on 450 Eleventh Avenue, a 51-story hotel skyscraper in Hudson Yards. Designed by DSM Design Group and developed by Marx Development Group, the 642-foot-tall structure will house a 379-room Aloft Hotel along with guest amenities such as a business center, a ballroom, and a fourth-floor restaurant with a bar and outdoor terrace. Custom Metalcrafters supplied the curtain wall and Atria Builders is the general contractor for the project, which is located at the corner of West 37th Street and Eleventh Avenue, directly across from the Jacob K. Javits Center.

Aurora Capital and Jeff Sutton’s Wharton Properties have completed the renovation of 511 Fifth Avenue, a historic 18-story Beaux Arts building located steps from Grand Central Terminal in the heart of Midtown, Manhattan. This extensive redevelopment aims to align the property with modern office space standards while preserving its historic essence. Ownership has enlisted JLL as the exclusive leasing agent for the property, which is located at the southeast corner of Fifth Avenue and East 43rd Street.

126 East 57th Street Reaches Street Level In Midtown, Manhattan 

Construction has reached street level at 126 East 57th Street, the site of a 28-story residential building on Billionaires’ Row in Midtown East, Manhattan. Designed by ODA Architecture , who is also in charge of the interior design, and developed by MRR Development under the MRR 1326 LLC, the 346-foot-tall structure will yield 147 condominium units spread across 170,000 square feet, as well as 5,000 square feet of lower-level retail space. WSP USA is the engineer and Plaza Buildings is the general contractor for the project, which is being constructed on an L-shaped parcel at the corner of East 56th Street and Lexington Avenue. A narrow panhandle section of the building’s footprint will extend north to East 57th Street.

Work Resumes on 550 Tenth Avenue After Crane Collapse in Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan

Construction resumes on 550 Tenth Avenue, a 47-story residential skyscraper in Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan. Designed by Handel Architects and developed by Gotham Organization and Goldman Sachs Asset Management JV, the rising 520-foot-tall structure will yield 430,000 square feet and 453 rental units, with 137 reserved for affordable housing, as well as 9,000 square feet of lower-level retail space, over 20,000 square feet of amenities, and 26,764 square feet of administrative office space for Covenant House. GO Covenant LLC is the owner and Monadnock Construction is the general contractor for the property, which is located along Tenth Avenue between West 40th and 41st Streets.
