Virgin Hotel at 1225 Broadway Close To Topping Out Above NoMad

Located at 1225 Broadway between West 29th Street and West 30th Street and between Sixth Avenue and Broadway, a new Virgin Hotel is set to rise 476 feet above NoMad. The project will have nearly 300,000 square feet of space, with 460 hotel rooms and 90,000 square feet of retail in the tower’s podium. The building is being designed by VOA Associates and developed by the Lam Group. Sir Richard Branson of Virgin Group is in charge of the 38-story hotel management.

TSX Hotel at 1568 Broadway Prepares For 2019 Demolition in Times Square

While the flashing marquee lights and LED billboards of 1568 Broadway continue to brighten the crossroads of the world, the light bulbs and digital screens will one day turn off as the building prepares for demolition. Plans for the DoubleTree Suites by Hilton call for an entirely new 46-story, 550,000 square foot building dubbed TSX Broadway. The 106-year old Palace Theatre will be the only part of the original site to be preserved, structurally elevated, and integrated into the $2.5 billion dollar redevelopment. L&L Holding CompanyMaefield Development, and Fortress Investment Group are the developers who purchased the site for $450 million dollars.

SHoP Architects’ “Stairway to Heaven” Nears Pinnacle at 111 West 57th Street, Atop Billionaire’s Row

111 West 57th Street is nearing the upper section of its topmost residential and mechanical floors. With a height to width ratio of 24:1, the SHoP Architects-designed tower will soon become the most slender building in the world. It is the 2nd-tallest skyscraper under construction in New York City, and will soon climb to an 1,438-foot-high pinnacle between Sixth and Seventh Avenues. The supertall is being developed by JDS Development and Property Markets Group, and Douglas Elliman is in charge of sales and marketing for the 46 condominiums within.
