Crain’s Business reports the 16-story commercial building spanning 123-141 West 57th Street, in Midtown — home to the 197-room Salisbury Hotel and Calvary Baptist Church — could potentially be the location of Extell Development’s next ultra-luxury…
Yesterday, The Real Deal reported on an eviction controversy surrounding 338 West 39th Street, which is a site that will soon yield a new hotel. Now, YIMBY can reveal the design of the new building coming to the lot, which is being developed by the Portuguese hotel group Pestana Hotels.
Last July, YIMBY obtained construction documents for the future Nordstrom Tower at 217 West 57th Street, and we translated the diagrams into renderings. An LLC has filed applications for a six-story, 11-unit residential building measuring 8,014 square feet at 323 East 53rd Street, in Midtown East. Technically the project would be an expansion of the existing four-story townhouse, but the new structure would have a total floor area greater than 100% of the existing building. Vail Associates is designing.
The Real Deal reports that law firm Skadden has signed a 20-year lease for 550,000 square feet at Brookfield Property Partners’ 1 Manhattan West, located at 401 9th Avenue, on the West Side. Construction will begin immediately on the 69-story, 2.1-million square-foot office tower, and opening is scheduled for 2019.
