10-Story, 65-Unit Mixed-Use Building Tops Out At 600 West 58th Street, Hell’s Kitchen

In December, YIMBY brought you a construction update on the 10-story, 65-unit mixed-use building, dubbed FRANK 57WEST, under construction at 600 West 58th Street, in Hell’s Kitchen at the corner of Eleventh Avenue. At the time, the structure was three stories in height, but now the building has officially topped out. It’s the first ground-up project to bring medical space to the Far West Side. The first four floors, which the Wexler Healthcare Properties Team at The Corcoran Group is leasing, will contain 87,717 square feet of medical space. The ground floor will also feature 6,407 square feet of commercial-retail space, and the top six floors will contain the rental apartments. The Durst Organization is developing the project and Studio V Architecture is designing it. Occupancy is expected in the second half of 2016.

Two-Towered, 707-Unit Mixed-Use Project At 60 South Broadway Approved, White Plains

Back in August of 2015, the two-towered, 707-unit mixed-use development proposed at 60 South Broadway, in White Plains (in Westchester County), was making its way through the approval process. After nearly three years since the project was made public, the White Plains Common Council has unanimously approved the 858,000 square-foot project, Westfair reports. Two 24-story residential towers will sit atop a common 93,840 square-foot commercial base featuring retail and restaurant space. The residential units above will be rental apartments, 43 of which will be rented at affordable rates. There will also be roughly 30,000 square feet of outdoor public space. Finally, a four-story, 1,000-car parking garage will be built entirely underground. Westchester Pavilion, the largely vacant single-story retail complex, must first be demolished. Perkins Eastman is designing, and Urstadt Biddle Properties Inc. and a branch of Miami-based Lennar Corporation are the developers.

First Look At Eight-Story, 114-Unit Mixed-Use Project At 435 East 13th Street, East Village

In the final days of 2014, YIMBY reported on applications for an eight-story, 114-unit mixed-use building at 435 East 13th Street (a.k.a 432-438 East 14th Street), in the East Village, and nearly a year later, crews demolished the site’s old two-story post office building. Now, EV Grieve has the first glimpse of the project, which will encompass 135,186 square feet and two buildings, per the latest filings. Located on both ends of the block-thru parcel, each building will feature 8,700 square feet of ground-floor retail space. The residential units will average 769 square feet apiece and 20 percent of them will rent at below market-rates. Benenson Capital Partners and Mack Real Estate Group are developing, and SLCE Architects is designing the project. Completion is anticipated for early 2017.
