New York City’s Department of Housing Preservation and DevelopmentMonadnock, Sisters of Charity Housing Development Corporation, and The Master Group to construct a new 100 percent affordable housing property in Stapleton, Staten Island. The development will create 360 new affordable homes with more than half designated for the formerly homeless, extremely-low, and very low-income households.
Permits have been filed for an eight-story mixed-use building at 2905 West 17th Street in Coney Island, Brooklyn. Located between Mermaid and Surf Avenues, the interior lot is three blocks west of the Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue subway station, serviced by the F, N, and Q trains. George Rigas is listed as the owner behind the applications.
While concrete details remain unconfirmed, the first Request for Proposal (RFP) submission for the site of a future supertall north of Related Companies’ Hudson Yards complex has now been unveiled. The ground-up 1,663-foot-tall building would become one of the tallest towers in New York City by both architectural and roof height, on the site of the former Hudson Spire proposal. Sir David Adjaye of Adjaye Associates is the architect, while developers include Deryl McKissick, The Peebles Corporation, Exact Capital Group, and the Witkoff Group. The envisioned master plan would sit on a 1.2-acre lot, dubbed “Site K,” at 418 11th Avenue, bound by West 35th and West 36th Street, Hudson Boulevard West, and 11th Avenue.
RXR Realty recently celebrated the commencement of construction on 2413 Third Avenue, a 27-story residential tower in the Mott Haven section of the South Bronx. Designed by CetraRuddy Architecture, the development will comprise a mix of residences, parking, and ground-floor commercial area. 2413 Third Avenue arrives as RXR Realty’s first entry into the Bronx market.
The affordable housing lottery has launched for The Kira, a 21-story mixed-use building at 153-19 Jamaica Avenue in downtown Jamaica, Queens. Designed by GF55 Architects and developed by SMJ Development with BFC Partners and New Destiny Housing, the structure yields 69 residences and 6,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 69 units for residents at 80 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $57,326 to $85,920.
