Since YIMBY revealed Magnum Real Estate Group’s plans for 196 Orchard Street back in February, Real Estate Equities has partnered with Magnum to develop the 10-story, 83-unit mixed-use building. The two developers will soon close on the assemblage for $108 million, reports The Real Deal. Demolition of the existing single-story buildings should follow.
An LLC has filed applications for a five-story, eight-unit mixed-use residential and community-facility building at 132-22 Maple Avenue, in southern Flushing proper. The community space will measure nearly 1,250 square feet, and An Shen Ma is designing. An existing two-story structure must first be removed.
The Court Square Blog notes that Jeffrey Gershon’s 11-story, 182-rental-unit mixed-use building has topped out at 22-22 Jackson Avenue, in Long Island City, and the façade is now five stories up. In YIMBY’s last update in November, the building was only five stories, and completion is expected in 2016.
NorthJersey.com reports that excavation has begun at 33 Park Avenue, in Jersey City’s Liberty Harbor area, where Fisher Development is building two 44-story mixed-use towers containing 900 residential units. Perkins Eastman’s design was revealed by YIMBY in February, the towers will be built in phases, and completion of the first building is expected by 2017.
The New York Times recently noticed Ironstate’s URL Staten Island — located on the Stapleton’s waterfront, the first phase to include 571 residential units and 35,000 square feet of retail space — has made significant progress in construction. Revealed by YIMBY in 2014, multiple buildings have topped-out at five stories, and roughly half of the retail space is already leased. Completion of the first phase is expected later this year.
