First Look At 10-Story, 13-Unit Mixed-Use Project At 173 Chrystie Street, Lower East Side

Late last year, YIMBY reported on filings for a 10-story, 13-unit mixed-use building planned at 173-175 Chrystie Street, on the Lower East Side, and now a rendering has surfaced of the project, per Bowery Boogie. The new building will have 1,537 square feet of retail space on the ground floor, and the condos will average roughly 2,000 square feet apiece. Nexus Development is developing, ODA Architecture is designing, and completion is tentatively expected in 2018.


Coliseum Redevelopment

Bioelectronic Research Facility Proposed On Portion Of Nassau Coliseum Site, Uniondale

Back in April, Forest City Ranter proposed their Nassau Coliseum redevelopment plans to the Town of Hempstead, and a month later, their submission was approved, with the first phase expected to include stadium renovations and adjacent new retail space. Now, a team of business and government officials are proposing a 250,000 square-foot bioelectronic research facility on a portion of the 91-acre Uniondale site, according to Innovate Long Island. The $300 million complex would host 50 laboratories and engineering shops, and would be built atop an underground parking garage.


95 Avenue B

Renovation Of Four-Story Mixed-Use Building At 95 Avenue B Complete, East Village

A top-down renovation is nearly complete at the four-story, two-unit mixed-use building at 95 Avenue B, in the East Village. According to EV Grieve, a newly constructed retail unit is now available on the ground floor. The Schedule A notes two residential units occupy the upper floors of the building, and those have also been gut-renovated. Clinton Hill-based PH Architecture + Sustainable is the architect of record, and scaffolding has recently been removed, indicating opening is likely imminent.


217 West 57th Street

Nordstrom Tower’s Core Rises Above Street Level At 217 West 57th Street

Earlier this September, YIMBY broke news that Extell’s 99-story Nordstrom Tower lost its spire and will rise 1,550 feet to the parapet, and today, the building is on the rise at 217 West 57th Street, per Curbed. Since YIMBY’s last construction update in July, significant progress has been made. The tower’s concrete core is currently above street level, and the rest of the building is slowly rising out of the pit. Nordstrom will occupy a significant chunk of the building’s base, and the 1.3-million square-foot tower is expected to be finished by 2019.


465 Pacific Street

New Rendering, Details For Seven-Story, 30-Unit Mixed-Use Project At 465 Pacific Street, Boerum Hill

After revealing the first rendering for the building, YIMBY reported on the summer ground-breaking of 472 Atlantic Avenue/465 Pacific Street, in Boerum Hill, and now The New York Times has a day-time image of the project, along with new details. Condominiums will come in one- to five-bedroom configurations, though the majority will be family-sized with three bedrooms, measuring roughly 1,400 square feet apiece. Stribling Marketing Associates is the broker, Avery Hall Investments and ARIA Development Group are developing, and Morris Adjmi Architects is designing, with completion currently anticipated for the winter of 2017.
