115 Delancey Street Officially Tops Out, Lower East Side

The tallest of nine structures comprising the Essex Crossing development, at 115 Delancey Street, has officially topped-out. The last time YIMBY reported on the site, it had just risen above street level, back in late January. The 26-story building will include 195 rental apartments, of which 98 will be affordable. Its developer, Delancey Street Associates, is comprised of BFC Partners, L+M Development Partners, and Taconic Investment Partners.

Foundation Work Complete for 51-Story Tower at 126 Madison Avenue, Midtown South

Back in June, YIMBY uncovered the first full renderings for a new condominium tower that will rise at 15 East 30th Street, or 126 Madison Avenue, in Midtown South. At the time, excavation was just wrapping up. Now, the latest photos from JC_Heights show that foundation work is complete, which means the 51-story and 756-foot-tall tower should soon begin climbing into the skyline.

Demolition Wraps for Ceruzzi’s 147 East 86th Street, Upper East Side

Back in 2015, YIMBY revealed the renderings for a new development coming to the corner of 86th Street and Lexington Avenue, with an official address of 147 East 86th Street. In February of 2016, building applications were filed for the site, and now, demolition is complete on the old Petco, paving the way for construction to begin on the project.

Permits Filed for 148-18 Hillside Avenue, Jamaica, Queens

Neighboring the historic Georgian-style King Manor Museum, and the intimidating Supreme Court of Queens County, a new 9-story mixed-use building might just bring more of the 21^st Century to Downtown Jamaica, Queens. An anonymous LLC has filed permits for 148-18 Hillside Avenue, located on a busy thoroughfare with dozens of restaurants and shops. Despite being quite distant from Manhattan, the two locations are well connected. It is just three blocks away from the Parsons Boulevard subway station, serviced by the E and F trains.

Permits Filed for 253 Empire Boulevard, Crown Heights, Brooklyn

Permits have been filed for a new three-story mixed-use structure in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. An anonymous LLC filed the applications for 253 Empire Boulevard, which borders an active commercial strip along Rogers Avenue. The building will be just a block away from the Sterling Station, serviced by the 2 and 5 trains. The site used to be a single-story laundry superstore with parking, but has been left unoccupied for several years.

Far Rockaway Church Redevelopment Revealed at 1414 Central Avenue, Queens

Yesterday, YIMBY brought you news on building applications for 1414 Central Avenue, in Queens’ Far Rockaway neighborhood. Today, we have the first preliminary rendering for the project, designed by Magnusson Architecture and Planning, and the new building will be a massive improvement over the site’s current state.

New Rendering and Construction Update for 587 Main Street, New Rochelle

Manhattan Beach is a fairly quiet and affluent neighborhood, with plenty of single-family homes. However, there is a small area close to the border with Brighton Beach that has been zoned for larger projects, including 59 West End Avenue, where an existing structure will soon meet the wrecking ball for a new seven-story mixed-use building.

Permits Filed for 35-22 Parsons Boulevard, Flushing, Queens

Five blocks to the northeast of the Main Street stop on the 7 Train, Flushing is about to see yet another new mixed-use development. Applications have been filed for a seven-story building at 35-22 Parsons Boulevard, on the site of an existing assortment of one-story retail space.

Permits Filed for 2437 Pitkin Avenue, East New York, Brooklyn

East New York’s infill boom continues apace, and now, an application for a new seven-story building at 2437 Pitkin Avenue has been filed by Williamsburg-based Southside Associates. At a height of 75 feet, the project would be among the taller structures in the area. The mixed-use development will have a total construction area of 23,000 square feet, including nearly 1,000 square feet of commercial retail on the first floor. The remaining 22,000 square feet will be divided amongst 32 residential units. The architect for the project is Diego Aguilera Architects, P.C., and demolition permits have not yet been filed for the existing garage.
