An LLC, led by Steven Schnall, has filed applications for six-story, 14-unit mixed-use building measuring nearly 12,000 square feet at 1980 Amsterdam Avenue, in southern Washington Heights. Steven Schneider, of Schneider Associates, is designing, and the existing dilapidated three-story structure must first be demolished.

CetraRuddy Architects will craft the interiors for the revamped 146-unit building, which will sport a mix of one to four-bedrooms.

It will include a community facility spanning 2,280 square feet. C3D Architecture is the architect of record, and initial permits were filed over the summer of 2014.
