The 2nd Avenue subway line is continuing to work its magic on the Upper East Side. Just three blocks from the Q and R train’s 86th Street subway station, permits have been filed for an eight-story mixed-use development at 333 East 82nd Street. Sean Lavin of Lavin Development will be responsible for the project.
Located on West 116th Street between 5th Avenue and Malcolm X Boulevard, an 11-story building will soon rise at 20 West 116th Street and house 29,540 square feet of residential space. The project is being designed by GF55 Partners and developed by Carthage Advisors, and will replace the old Harlem Baptist Temple Church, which was partially demolished back in 2009.
Rising now at 180 East 88th Street is the soon-to-be tallest tower on the Upper East Side above 72nd Street. The 31-story residential building is being developed and designed by DDG, with aesthetic inspiration derived from renowned Spanish architect Antoni Gaudi. The structure has reached its 28th floor, leaving three stories remaining before topping-out occurs.
As the Moise Safra Cultural Center approaches full completion on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, YIMBY has an exclusive look at renderings of the forthcoming cultural hub’s exterior and interiors. Permits have been filed for a 20-story mixed-use building at 1230 Madison Avenue, on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.
