1841 Broadway Rises Quickly on Manhattan’s Upper West Side

Construction is rising on 1841 Broadway, a 25-story residential building on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Designed by INC Architecture & Design with SLCE Architects as the architect of record and developed by Global Holdings Management Group, the 281-foot-tall structure will yield 180,813 square feet with 173 market rate and affordable housing units as well as 11,741 square feet of retail space on the first two levels. Pavarini McGovern, LLC is the general contractor and DeSimone Consulting Engineers is the façade consultant for the property, which is located at the corner of Broadway and West 60th Street, just north of Columbus Circle and the southwest corner of Central Park.

New renderings have been revealed for 164-168 West 136th Street, an eight-story residential building in Central Harlem. Designed by Tectus Design and developed by Haussmann Development and Coltown Properties, the structure will yield 21,885 square feet and 27 rental units, as well as amenities including a residential lounge, a rear yard, and a fitness center. The development site is an assemblage of lots located between Adam Clayton Powell Jr and Malcolm X Boulevards.

Permits have been filed for an eight-story mixed-use building at 282 West 132nd Street in Harlem, Manhattan. Located between West 132nd Street and Frederick Douglass Boulevard, the corner lot is within walking distance of the 135th Street subway station, serviced by the A, B, and C trains. 200 Amsterdam Avenue’s Duplex Penthouse Model Coming Soon to Manhattan’s Upper West Side

The Upper West Side’s top-selling new development, 200 Amsterdam, has shared with YIMBY that a new penthouse designed by Studio Mellone will be unveiled in the coming months. As a part of the building’s Penthouse Collection, the residence sits amongst the top floors of the 52-story, 668-foot-tall, 112-unit, and 300,000-square foot condominium tower, which is located on the corner of 69th Street and Amsterdam Avenue. The Art Deco-inspired tower was designed by Elkus Manfredi Architects, and developed by SJP Properties and Mitsui Fudosan America, with interior spaces by CetraRuddy. Closings are underway, and prices for available one- to five-bedroom residences starts at $3.1 million. The Penthouse Collection includes full-floor and duplex residences beginning at $17.9 million.

Governor Hochul Announces Agreement to Preserve Affordable Housing At Inwood Tower for 30 Years

Inwood Tower, a New York State-supervised Mitchell-Lama cooperative, will remain an affordable housing property for the next 30 years following an agreement forged by Governor Kathy Hochul. The property is located at 11 Fort George Hill in Washington Heights and comprises 190 apartments.

The existing five-story mixed-use building, alternatively referred to as 61 West 86th Street, sits within the boundaries of the Upper West Side Historic District and requires a Certificate of Appropriateness from the LPC before any construction can begin.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams announced plans to construct a new 82-unit affordable housing property at 258 West 97th Street on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. The project is the direct result of a $1.1 million settlement with illegal hotelier Hank Freid who owned and operated the property for more than a decade.
