288 East 88th Street’s Exterior Nears Completion on Manhattan’s Upper East Side

Exterior work is progressing on 288 East 88th Street, a 24-story residential building on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by Hill West Architects and co-developed by Alchemy-ABR and Azur in partnership with Carlyle Group, the 350-foot-tall structure will span 96,543 square feet and yield 45 rental units with an average scope of 1,842 square feet. The project will also include 2,507 square feet of ground-floor commercial space and a cellar level. The property is alternately addressed as 1695 Second Avenue and located at the corner of Second Avenue and East 88th Street.

LPC To Review Demolition Permit for 165 West 86th Street on Manhattan’s Upper West Side

The New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission is set to review a proposal for the demolition of West-Park Presbyterian Church at 165 West 86th Street on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Submitted by Alchemy Properties and the West Park Administrative Commission, the application cites unsound structural conditions in the Romanesque Revival building as well as the church administration’s financial hardship under Administrative Code § 25-309(2). The property is located between Amsterdam and Columbus Avenues.

Permits Filed for 37 West 66th Street on Manhattan’s Upper West Side

Permits have been filed for a 25-story mixed-use building at 37 West 66th Street on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Located between Columbus Avenue and Central Park West, the lot is one block from the 66th Street–Lincoln Center subway station, served by the 1 train. David Rothstein of Extell Development is listed as the owner behind the applications.

A new rendering has been revealed for 985 Fifth Avenue, a proposed 20-story residential tower on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by Studio Sofield and developed by former Governor Eliot Spitzer of Spitzer Enterprises, the 264-foot-tall structure will yield 26 condominium units. SLCE Architects is the architect of record for the project, which is located near the corner of East 79th Street and Fifth Avenue.

Renderings Reveal RAMSA Redevelopment of 800 Fifth Avenue on Manhattan’s Upper East Side

New renderings have been revealed for 800 Fifth Avenue, a proposed 26-story residential building on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by Robert A. M. Stern Architects and developed by Naftali Group, the structure will stand 330 feet tall and yield an undisclosed number of condominium units. The project will require the partial demolition of the current occupant, a 33-story rental building constructed in 1979. The property is located within the Upper East Side Historic District at the corner of Fifth Avenue and East 61st Street, directly across from Central Park.

National Urban League Opens New Headquarters at 117 West 125th Street In Harlem, Manhattan

The National Urban League’s has opened its new headquarters at the Urban League Empowerment Center at 117 West 125th Street in Harlem, Manhattan. The $242 million mixed-use development represents a major public-private partnership between Empire State Development (ESD), the City of New York, and private developers, marking the organization’s return to its Harlem roots where it was founded in 1910. Governor Kathy Hochul joined ESD president and CEO Hope Knight, community leaders, and development partners to celebrate the grand opening.

Designed by Pelli Clarke & Partners and developed by Elad Group, which purchased the property for $61 million in April 2022, the 420-foot-tall structure will yield 41 condominium units and a collection of amenities. SLCE Architects is the architect of record for the property, which is alternately addressed as 1299 Third Avenue and located on an interior lot facing Third Avenue with two small panhandle extensions to East 74th and 75th Streets.

RAMSA’s 255 East 77th Street Nears Completion on Manhattan’s Upper East Side

Stern Architects and developed by Naftali Group, the 500-foot-tall structure will span 170,481 square feet and yield 62 condominium units in two- to five-bedrooms layouts. The project will also include 1,650 square feet of retail space, one cellar level, and 22 enclosed parking spaces. Hill West Architects is the architect of record for the property, which is alternately addressed as 1481 Second Avenue and located at the corner of Second Avenue and East 77th Street.
