A new design has been revealed for a six-story residential building at 110 West 123^rd Street, in Harlem‘s Mount Morris Park Historic District, which is heading to the Landmarks Preservation Commission for review later today. The site is two blocks away from the 125^th Street Subway Station on Malcolm X Boulevard, serviced by the 2 and 3 trains. Four blocks further is the Harlem 125^th Street Train Station, serviced by Metro-North. Daniel Kimya is the owner, with Big Apple Developers responsible for the project.

Demolition Begins For Final Piece of Extell’s 775-Foot-Tall 50 West 66th Street on the Upper West Side

One of the more interesting new designs coming to Manhattan will be at 50 West 66^th Street, where Extell will soon be adding yet another punctuation mark to the city’s skyline. The site is just six blocks away from Columbus Circle, and down the block from Central Park. The building was last on our radar in late 2017, with the news that the project would dramatically increase in size to become the tallest tower on the Upper West Side, taking away the title from 200 Amsterdam Avenue before it could even begin rising. Now, demolition has officially begun on the assemblage’s last structural occupant, while excavation continues apace across the land that has already been cleared.

The site is three blocks away from the 77^th Street subway station, serviced by the 4 and 6 trains, and four blocks away from the 72^nd Street subway station, serviced by the Q trains. Continental Ventures is listed as responsible for the demolition.

Permits Filed for 505 West 168th Street, Washington Heights

Permits have been filed for a six-story medical facility at 505 West 168^th Street, in Washington Heights, Manhattan. The site is two blocks away from the 168^th Street Subway Station, serviced by the 1, A, and C trains. Marino Torres MD is listed as the owner. Mr. Torres MD is a board certified pediatrics professional working at New York Presbyterian. NYP owns a multi-block hospital structure right next to the subway station. The permit does not specify a connection with the hospital, but it seems inevitable.

Viñoly’s Jetsons-Esque Skyscraper at 249 East 62nd Street Revealed, Upper East Side

Rafael Viñoly has become one of the more prominent designers of Manhattan’s residential real estate in recent years, and today, YIMBY has the first rendering for the architect’s latest skyscraper, at 249 East 62nd Street on the Upper East Side. While the tower will technically comprise only 32 floors, it will stand 510 feet to its rooftop, taking advantage of a Jetsons-esque podium to boost its upper levels high into the neighborhood skyline.

YIMBY has the latest on progress at the Robert A.M. Stern Architects-designed 250 West 81st Street, on the Upper West Side, which has finally topped-out at 209 feet, right on schedule. The new building fits neatly in the neighborhood, with a myriad of classical sensibilities embellishing the façade as well as the interiors. Alongside the topping-out, a slew of new interior renderings have also been revealed.
