The Leyton’s Glass and Stone Façade Progresses at 1059 Third Avenue on Manhattan’s Upper East Side

Work is continuing on the stone and glass exterior of The Leyton, a 30-story residential tower at 1059 Third Avenue on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by Manuel Glas Architects for Real Estate Inverlad and Third Palm Capital with interiors by Frampton Co. and Champalimaud Design, the 127,000-square-foot structure will yield 38 residences with sales and marketing led by Brown Harris Stevens Development Marketing. The inventory includes ten full-floor homes and one duplex. 1059 Third Avenue is located by the intersection of Third Avenue and East 63rd Street.

Beckford House and Tower Reach Completion on Manhattan’s Upper East Side

Construction is complete on Beckford House and Beckford Tower, a pair of residential buildings in the Yorkville neighborhood of Manhattan’s Upper East Side. The 21-story, 215-foot-tall Beckford House is addressed as 301 East 81st Street and also secondarily addressed as 1562 Second Avenue. Its taller 31-story sibling, Beckford Tower, rises across the street at 301 East 80th Street. The architecturally cohesive structures are designed by Studio Sofield and SLCE Architects and developed by Icon Realty Management, with CM & Associates in charge of construction. The two-tower development is located along Second Avenue between East 80th and 81st Streets.

Full demolition permits have been filed for 1643, 1647, and 1649 First Avenue on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. Located between East 85th and East 86th Streets, the cumulative 5,625-square-foot site has 75 feet of street frontage.

Robert A. M. Stern’s 200 East 83rd Street Tops Out Over Manhattan’s Upper East Side

Construction has topped out on 200 East 83rd Street, a 449-foot-tall residential tower designed by Robert A.M. Stern on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Developed by Naftali Group and Rockefeller Group, the 243,128-square-foot structure rises 35 stories and will yield 86 units spread over 205,877 square feet, for an average scope of 2,393 square feet. SLCE Architects is the architect of record for the project, which is located at the corner of Third Avenue and East 83rd Street.

Excavation Underway at 1841 Broadway on Manhattan’s Upper West Side

Excavation has begun at 1841 Broadway, the site of a 24-story residential building on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Designed by SLCE Architects and developed by Global Holdings Management Group, the 281-foot-tall building will span 181,319 square feet and yield 173 units as well as 11,741 square feet of commercial space. Pavarini McGovern, LLC is the general contractor for the project, which will rise from a corner site at the intersection of Broadway and West 60th Street, just north of Columbus Circle and the southwestern corner of Central Park.

266 West 96th Street Awaits Demolition on Manhattan’s Upper West Side

Demolition preparations have begun at 266 West 96th Street, the site of a 23-story residential building on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Developed by Fetner Properties, the structure is planned to yield 171 apartments, with 91 regular-sized homes and 80 micro units marketed to seniors ranging from 290 to 340 square feet each. Sixty-eight apartments would be allocated toward permanent affordable housing, while all residents would be provided free amenity access that includes a health club. The site is located between Broadway and West End Avenue.

Exterior Work Continues on 212 West 93rd Street on Manhattan’s Upper West Side

Exterior work is progressing on 212 West 93rd Street, a 14-story condominium building on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Located between Broadway and Amsterdam Avenues, the 65,000-square-foot project is designed by Eran Chen, head of ODA, and developed by Landsea Homes and Leyton Properties, which acquired the 9,000-square-foot plot from the Shaare Zedek Congregation for $34.3 million. It was last reported that the property will yield 20 units designed by GRADE New York and marketed by The Lindsey Stokes Team, a division of real estate brokerage Compass.

Union Theological Seminary Reveals Campus Upgrade Plans in Morningside Heights, Manhattan

The Union Theological Seminary is working with architect Beyer Blinder Belle to complete accessibility upgrades to the historic campus in Morningside Heights, Manhattan. Scope of work in this phase of renovation focuses on entryways into the Brown Memorial Tower, a landmarked structure at the southeast corner of the campus.

Updated Proposals Reveal Sloped Glazing Replacement at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in Manhattan

The Landmarks Preservation Commission will this week review proposals to replace The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s sloped glazing wall at the institution’s Rockefeller Wing. The museum has partnered with Beyer Blinder Belle to complete the project, which will replace deteriorating elements of the building’s glass facade.
