1059 Third Avenue’s Façade Continues Installation on the Upper East Side

Façade installation is moving along at 1059 Third Avenue, a 481-foot-tall mixed-use tower on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by Manuel Glas Architects for Real Estate Inverlad and Third Palm Capital, the slender 30-story structure is located between 62nd Street and 63rd Street and will yield a total of 127,000 square feet of newly built space. The property will contain 38 condominiums spread across 103,900 square feet, averaging around 2,740 square feet apiece.

New York Blood Center Reveals Draft Scope of Work for Headquarters Expansion on the Upper East Side

The City Planning Commission is currently reviewing an updated draft scope of work to expand the New York Blood Center’s Upper East Side headquarters. The commission will need to approve proposed amendments to the area’s existing zoning rules before the project can begin.

Located between Park Avenue and Lexington Avenue, the lot is steps from the 86th Street subway station, serviced by the 4, 5, and 6 trains. Rybak Development under the 126 East 86th Street Development LLC is listed as the owner behind the applications.

Upper West Side’s 125 West End Avenue to be Redeveloped as Science and Research Facility

The Taconic Partners West Campus building at 125 West End Avenue on the Upper West Side will soon be redeveloped as a state-of-the-art life sciences and research laboratory. In January 2021, broadcasting company Walt Disney/ABC will vacate the eight-story property it has occupied since 1985. Architect Perkins+Will and engineer JB&B round out the redevelopment team.

Sales Launch for RAMSA’s 1228 Madison Avenue on the Upper East Side

Park 79 Hotel at 117 West 79th Street Set For Senior Affordable Housing Conversion, on Upper West Side

The historic Park 79 Hotel on Manhattan’s Upper West Side will soon be home to a new deeply affordable senior housing property following the successful acquisition of construction financing to complete the project. Located at 117 West 79th Street near Columbus Avenue, the seven-story building will eventually comprise 77 housing units with on-site supportive and social services administered by Project FIND. The property will remain affordable for seniors for at least 60 years through a regulatory agreement with the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development.

New York Blood Center recently announced plans to expand its existing headquarters at 310 East 67th Street on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Renderings from Ennead Architects offer a first look at the “Center East” project, which includes the replacement of the Blood Center’s existing property with a 16-story mixed-use tower.

LPC to Review Renovation Proposal for 55 West 86th Street on the Upper West Side

The Landmarks Preservation Commission is now considering proposals to renovate the façade of a 19th century townhouse in the Central Park West Historic District of the Upper West Side. The property is located at 55 West 86th Street between Central Park West and Columbus Avenue, and was originally constructed in 1889.
