Two-Story Commercial Building Coming To 58-38 69th Street, Maspeth

Michael Cotoia, head of Alpine Ready Mix (a Queens-based concrete supplier), has filed applications for a two-story mixed-use commercial building at 58-38 69th Street, in eastern Maspeth. The building will measure 11,000 square feet; retail space will span 5,500 square feet on the ground floor while a health care facility will take the second level. Fushing-based Frank Quatela is the architect of record, and an existing single-story structure must first be demolished.

44-Story Residential Tower Nearly Halfway Up At 23-10 Queens Plaza South, Long Island City

Nearly a year ago, construction kicked off at 23-10 Queens Plaza South — aka 23-01 42nd Road, in Long Island City — where Property Markets Group is developing a 44-story, 391-unit residential tower, with 30,650 square feet of office space on the third floor. Now the building is up to the 20th floor, according to The Court Square Blog, and glass is quickly encasing the structure. SLCE Architects is the architect of record, and completion is likely in 2016.


18-22 - 18-42 42nd Street

Warehouses At 18-38 42nd Street To Be Delivered In 2016, Astoria

Excavation is currently underway for 11 two-story warehouse buildings spanning the lots of 18-21 – 18-27 41st Street and 18-22 – 18-42 42nd Street, in eastern Astoria, encircling the landmarked Steinway Mansion. According to Queens Chronicle, the buildings will stand 30 feet in height and will total 23,450 square feet. Gerald Caliendo is the architect of record, and an anonymous LLC, headed by the property owner Sal Lucchese, is developing. Completion is slated for Summer 2016.


42-12 28th Street

58-Story Residential Tower Rising At 42-12 28th Street, Long Island City

Back in 2014, YIMBY revealed renderings of Heatherwood Communities’ planned 58-story, 477-unit residential tower at 42-12 28th Street, in Long Island City, at the same time excavation was starting. Now, the project is up to its tenth floor, according to The Court Square Blog. Glass installation has also started, and completion of the tower, dubbed 28 On 28th, is expected in 2017. Goldstein Hill & West is the architect, and $154 million in financing was provided by PNC Bank in May.


101-16 158th Avenue

Four-Unit Residential Development Coming To 101-16 158th Avenue, Old Howard Beach

Sandy Robbins, of Blackstone Builders Inc., has filed applications for a four-unit residential development spanning the lots of 101-12 – 101-16 158th Avenue, in Old Howard Beach, a block north of the Howard Beach/JFK Airport stop on the A train. Twin two-story buildings will each house two residential units, with units averaging 1,190 square feet. Ben Leonardi’s Miele Associates is the applicant of record, and demolition work commenced on the existing single-story home in June.
