Nine-Story, 108-Key Hotel Begins Rising At 27-07 43rd Avenue, Long Island City

The planned nine-story, 108-unit Hyatt Hotel at 27-07 43rd Avenue, in Long Island City, is now one floor above street level, according to The Court Square Blog. The building will measure 49,590 square feet in total. The developer, Prakash Patel, originally planned a residential project for the site, but filed new permits in 2014 for a hotel. The building is now expected to be complete in early 2016, and Michael Kang is the architect of record.

Community Church At 68-03 Roosevelt Avenue Building Six-Story Facility, Woodside

The Universal Church has filed applications for a six-story, 63,340 square-foot place of worship at 68-03 Roosevelt Avenue, in Woodside, right under the 69th Street stop on the 7 train. The building will include classrooms, rectory units, and multi-purpose rooms, and will occupy a large portion of the block. Mothusi Phometsi, of M3G Design, is the architect of record, and the church’s existing single-story building must first be demolished.

172-25 Baisley Boulevard

Three Stories, 15 Residential Units Planned At 172-25 Baisley Boulevard, St. Albans

Property owner Helen Imanoel has filed applications for a five-building, 15-unit residential development spanning the lots of 172-25 – 172-35 Baisley Boulevard, in western St. Albans, Queens. Each building will stand three stories with three units, averaging 1,125 square feet. Gerald Caliendo is the architect of record, and an existing two-story, two-unit structure must first be demolished.

22-12 Jackson Avenue

11-Story, 186-Unit Building Planned At 22-12 Jackson Avenue, Long Island City

Adam America and MSD Partners have acquired the development site at 22-12 Jackson Avenue, in Long Island City — a few blocks south of Court Square stations serviced by the 7, E, M, and G trains — for $43.5 million. According to Crain’s Business, the developers plan to construct an 11-story, 186-unit mixed-use building measuring 210,000 square feet. A 5,000 square-foot retail portion is planned for the ground floor, and both ODA and Issac & Stern are designing. A small single-story structure must first be removed.

25-48 127th Street

Three-Family Building Planned At 25-48 127th Street, College Point

Property owner Tony Romano has filed applications for a three-story, three-unit residential building at the vacant lot of 25-48 127th Street, in the southern end of College Point. The building will measure 2,895 square feet, which means units will average 965 square feet. The project will have off-street parking, and Frank Quatela is the architect of record.
