Excavation Underway for 1 Putnam Avenue in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn

Construction is underway at 1 Putnam Avenue, the site of an eight-story mixed-use building in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn. Designed by RSLN Architecture, MEP systems engineered by RAAD, and developed by Abeco Organization, the 84-foot-tall structure will span 40,364 square feet and yield 41 rental units with an average scope of 804 square feet, as well as 7,370 square feet of commercial space, a cellar level, and one enclosed parking space. Fenimore Plaza LLC is listed as the owner and Abeco Construction LLC is the general contractor for the project, which is located to the north of Putnam Triangle between Grand Avenue to the east and Cambridge Place to the west.

Foundation work is progressing at 1487 First Avenue, the site of a 35-story residential building on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by Hill West Architects and developed by Carmel Partners, which purchased the property for $73.5 million in early 2022 from local developer Robert Chou, the 404-foot-tall structure will yield 206 condominium units, 7,120 square feet of ground-floor retail space, and a cellar level. CP VII 78th Street Owner is the owner and Carmel Construction East is the general contractor for the project, which is located at the southwestern corner of First Avenue and East 78th Street.

Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox and developed by Rabina, which took over from Ceruzzi Properties and SMI USA in 2019, the 1,002-foot-tall reinforced concrete skyscraper will yield 415,000 square feet with 100 condominium units, as well as commercial space on the lower floors and four cellar levels. Charles & Co. is the interior designer, WSP is the structural engineer, DeSimone Consulting Engineers is the façade consultant, and Suffolk Construction is the general contractor for the property, which is located at the northwest corner of Fifth Avenue and West 43rd Street, one block north of Bryant Park.

Excavation is underway at 1487 First Avenue, the site of an upcoming 24-story residential building on the border of Lenox Hill and Yorkville on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by Hill West Architects and developed by Carmel Partners, which purchased the property for $73.5 million in early 2022 from local developer Robert Chou. Previous figures put the height and floor count at 209 feet tall and 24 stories, though a new rendering spotted on site shows a much taller revision. It was last reported that there will be 94 condominium units with an average scope of around 1,900 square feet, 7,120 square feet of ground-floor retail space, and a cellar level. Designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and developed by Solow Management Corp., the tower will rise along Billionaires’ Row between Fifth and Sixth Avenues and West 56th and 57th Streets.

Work On Hold at 14 Fifth Avenue in Greenwich Village, Manhattan

Foundation work is temporarily on hold at 14 Fifth Avenue, the site of a 19-story residential building in Greenwich Village, Manhattan. Designed by Robert A.M. Stern Architects and Hill West Architects and developed by Madison Realty Capital, which purchased the 5,255-square-foot plot for $27.5 million in 2015, the 241-foot-tall structure will yield 20 condominiums. CM & Associates is the general contractor for the property, which is located between East 8th and East 9th Streets, just north of Washington Square Park.
