A proposal has been submitted to the NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC) detailing plans for the restoration of the south aisle of Grace Church, a historic landmark at 802 Broadway in Manhattan’s Greenwich Village. Assembled by Building Conservation Associates (BCA), the proposal seeks to address deterioration issues with the structure, which in large part have been caused by water damage over a number of years.

Designed by Akaia Architecture with Angelo Ng & Anthony Ng Architects Studio as the architect of record, and developed by New Age Developers LLC, the 120-foot-tall structure will yield 65,000 square feet of commercial space to be occupied by restaurants, retail, offices, and a rooftop bar, as well as 27,000 square feet of medical office space. The property is bound by 37th Avenue to the north, 38th Avenue to the south, and 138th Street to the east.

Façade installation is beginning on Magnolia Gardens, a seven-story transitional residential and community facility at 39-03 College Point Boulevard in Flushing, Queens. Designed by Urban Architectural Initiatives and developed by Asian Americans for Equality (AAFE) under Magnolia Gardens Developer Inc., the 72-foot-tall structure will yield 62,932 square feet of community facility space, 90 supportive housing units sponsored by the NYC Department of Housing Preservation and Development, and a 30-foot-long rear yard. Urban Resources Institute (URI) and the Department of Homeless Services (DHS) will manage the facilities at the property, which is alternately addressed as 133-04 39th Avenue and located at the intersection of College Point Boulevard and 39th Avenue.

Governor Hochul Unveils Budget For Fiscal Year 2026

Governor Kathy Hochul has unveiled her fiscal year 2026 Executive Budget, which among state-wide initiatives, includes a number of measures to tackle New York City’s housing crisis and promote real estate development in the city. Central to the budget is the allocation of $1 billion over five years to Mayor Adams’ “City of Yes” initiative, which will fund housing construction and places an emphasis on zoning reforms to boost density. Another $760.5 million in discretionary funding has been allocated for certified Pro-Housing Communities, including $100 million for infrastructure upgrades to support new developments.
