Three Four-Story, Four-Unit Residential Buildings Coming To 16 Melrose Street, Bushwick

An anonymous Flushing-based LLC has filed applications for two four-story, four-unit residential buildings at 16-18 Melrose Street, in western Bushwick. The buildings will each measure 5,084 square feet and 4,432 square feet, respectively. Across both, the full-floor residential units should average 1,190 square feet apiece, which means condominiums are likely in the works. Pirooz Soltanizadeh’s Jamaica-based Royal Engineering is the applicant of record. The 47-foot-wide, 4,474-square-foot site is vacant. The Myrtle Avenue stop on the J and M trains is a stone’s throw away.

12-Story, 16-Unit Mixed-Use Project Tops Out At 1 Great Jones Alley, NoHo

Construction has topped out on the 12-story, 16-unit mixed-use building under development at 1 Great Jones Alley, which also goes by 688 Broadway, in NoHo. A photo of the structure has been posted to the YIMBY Forums. The latest building permits indicate the project will encompass 60,854 square feet and rise 154 feet above street level to its pinnacle. There will be 3,838 square feet of retail space across the ground and cellar levels, followed by condominiums from the second through 12th floors. The apartments should average a spacious 2,930 square feet apiece. Madison Realty Capital is the developer and BKSK Architects is behind the design. HMWhite is the landscape architect and completion is expected in the first half of 2017.


92-02 Rockaway Freeway

Six Two-Story, Two-Unit Residential Buildings Coming To 92-02 Rockaway Freeway, Rockaway Park

Upstate New York-based Catalyst Construction Group has filed applications for six two-story, two-unit residential buildings at 92-02 – 92-16 Rockaway Freeway, in Rockaway Beach. That’s a neighborhood located along the Rockaways, in Queens. All six of the structures will measure 3,032 square feet each. Across the entire project, the units — which will each take up a single floor — should average 997 square feet apiece, indicative of family-sized configurations. Haworth, N.J.-based T.F. Cusanelli & Filletti Architects is the architect of record. The 14,900-square-foot lot, located at the corner of Beach 92nd Street, is vacant. The Beach 90th Street stop on the A train and Rockaway Park Shuttle is four blocks away.


565 Broome Street

New Renderings Released of 25-Story, 115-Unit Mixed-Use Building at 565 Broome Street, Hudson Square

New renderings, depicting the final design, are now available for the 25-story, 115-unit mixed-use building under development at 565 Broome Street (a.k.a. 100 Varick Street), in Hudson Square. The renderings come as sales have launched for the project’s condominiums. The latest building permits indicate the structure will eventually encompass 322,154 square feet and rise 290 feet above street level to its roof, which doesn’t include the bulkhead.
