Construction Progresses on THE 74 At 201 East 74th Street on Manhattan’s Upper East Side

Construction is continuing on THE 74, a 32-story residential tower at 201 East 74th Street on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by Pelli Clarke & Partners with SLCE Architects as the architect of record and developed by Elad Group, which purchased the property for $61 million in April 2022, the 420-foot-tall structure will yield 42 condominium units and a collection of residential amenities. Rafael de Cardenas is the interior designer for the amenity spaces and the residences, which are being marketed by Douglas Elliman Development Marketing and will include half-floor two- and three-bedroom units, full-floor four- and five-bedroom homes, a single free-standing townhome, and a duplex penthouse. The property is alternately addressed as 1299 Third Avenue and located on an interior lot facing Third Avenue with two small panhandle extensions to East 74th and East 75th Streets.

520 Fifth Avenue Surpasses Halfway Mark in Midtown, Manhattan

Construction has surpassed the halfway mark on 520 Fifth Avenue, an 88-story residential supertall skyscraper in Midtown, Manhattan. Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox and developed by Rabina, the 1,002-foot-tall structure will span 415,000 square feet and yield 100 condominium units, a residents-only amenity floor on level 88, boutique office floors, a private members only club called Moss, and four cellar levels. The project is located at the northwest corner of Fifth Avenue and West 43rd Street, one block north of Bryant Park.

Exterior Work Continues On Hotel Meta At 450 11th Avenue in Hudson Yards, Manhattan

Exterior work is continuing on 450 Eleventh Avenue, a 51-story hotel structure in Hudson Yards. Designed by DSM Design Group and developed by Marx Development Group, the 642-foot-tall skyscraper will yield 379 guest rooms and amenities including a business center, a ballroom, banquet and conference spaces, a spa, a fitness center, and a multi-level restaurant with a bar and outdoor terrace. The property is located at the corner of West 37th Street and Eleventh Avenue, directly across from the Jacob K. Javits Center.

Design Team Unveiled For SPARC Life Science And Public Health Innovation Hub In Kips Bay, Manhattan

The New York City Economic Development Corporation announced Ennead Architects and Dattner Architects will design the new Science Park and Research Campus (SPARC) Kips Bay, Manhattan. The project plans to create a new life sciences hub located on Hunter College’s Brookdale Campus at First Avenue and East 25th Street.

Public Review Process Begins For ‘City Of Yes For Housing Opportunity’ Proposal

1487 First Avenue Reaches Halfway Mark On Manhattan’s Upper East Side

Construction has reached the halfway mark on 1487 First Avenue, a 35-story residential building on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by Hill West Architects and developed by Carmel Partners, which purchased the property from Robert Chou for $73.5 million in early 2022, the 404-foot-tall structure will yield 206 condominium units, 7,120 square feet of ground-floor retail space, and a cellar level. CP VII 78th Street Owner is the owner and Carmel Construction East is the general contractor for the project, which is located at the southwestern corner of First Avenue and East 78th Street.

Anagram Finishes Construction at 1 West 60th Street on Manhattan’s Upper West Side

Construction is wrapping up on Anagram, a 26-story residential tower at 1 West 60th Street on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Designed by INC Architecture & Design with SLCE Architects as the architect of record and developed by Global Holdings Management Group, the 281-foot-tall structure spans 180,813 square feet and yields 123 rental units with interiors by The Setting, as well as 20,000 square feet of retail space on the first two levels. Pavarini McGovern is the general contractor and DeSimone Consulting Engineers is the façade consultant for the property, which is alternately addressed as 1841 Broadway and located at the corner of Broadway and West 60th Street, just north of Columbus Circle and the southwest corner of Central Park.

New Renderings Revealed for KPF’s 520 Fifth Avenue Supertall in Midtown, Manhattan

New renderings have been revealed for 520 Fifth Avenue, an 88-story residential supertall skyscraper under construction in Midtown, Manhattan. Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox and developed by Rabina, which took over from Ceruzzi Properties and SMI USA in 2019, the 1,002-foot-tall structure will span 415,000 square feet and yield 100 condominium units and commercial space on the ground floor and four cellar levels. WSP is the structural engineer, DeSimone Consulting Engineers is the façade consultant, Charles & Co. is the interior designer, and Suffolk Construction is the general contractor for the property, which is located at the northwest corner of Fifth Avenue and West 43rd Street, one block north of Bryant Park.

Housing Lottery Launches for 779 Flatbush Avenue in Flatbush, Brooklyn

The affordable housing lottery has launched for 779 Flatbush Avenue, a seven-story mixed-use building in Flatbush, Brooklyn. Designed by Eric Safyan Architect and developed by 779 Flatbush Propco LLC, the 27-unit property is owned by Tegern Capital, run by Maximilian J. Seitz and Jason Anderson. Available on NYC Housing Connect are six units for residents at 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $80,572 to $165,230.

Disney Headquarters Nears Completion at 7 Hudson Square in Hudson Square, Manhattan

Construction is nearing completion on The Walt Disney Company’s 22-story New York headquarters at 7 Hudson Square in Hudson Square, Manhattan. Designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and developed by Silverstein Properties, 338-foot-tall structure will yield 1.2 million square feet of offices, film and production studios, and ground-floor retail space. Gensler is the interior designer, and Lendlease is the general contractor for the project, which is alternately addressed as 137 Varick Street and formerly addressed as 4 Hudson Square, and stands on an 85,600-square-foot full-block plot bound by Vandam Street to the north, Spring Street to the south, Varick Street to the east, and Hudson Street to the west.
