300 West 30th Street’s Envelope Progresses in Chelsea, Manhattan

Curtain wall installation is progressing on 300 West 30th Street, a 16-story residential building in Chelsea. Designed by Studio C Architects and developed by Hiwin USA, the property is located at the corner of West 30th Street and Eighth Avenue, a short walk from Madison Square Garden, Penn Station, and the new Moynihan Train Hall, and will yield 80 residential units and ground-floor retail space. The developer purchased the site from Salt Equities for $27.5 million in May 2018.

Meatpacking District to Host L.E.A.F Flower Festival Following Expansion of Manhattan’s Open Streets Program

This weekend, L.E.A.F will launch its inaugural flower festival in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District. The event aligns with the expansion of the district’s Open Streets program, which includes the installation of new planter barricades that reduce vehicular traffic.

The Collection Tops Out at 401 West Street in West Village, Manhattan

Construction has topped out on The Collection, an eight-story residential building at 401 West Street along the Hudson River waterfront in Manhattan’s West Village. Designed by Thomas Juul Hansen and Hill West Architects and developed by Wainbridge Capital, the ten-unit project has taken some time to materialize because of a delay in demolition due to sustained flood damage from Superstorm Sandy. The property is located between West 10th and Charles Streets, directly across from the Christopher Street Pier.

LPC Reviews Applications to Install New Signage at Balthazar Restaurant in Soho, Manhattan

The Landmarks Preservation Commission (LPC) recently reviewed proposals to install new awnings and signage at Balthazar Restaurant in Soho. Located at 80 Spring Street, the restaurant occupies the ground floor of the building that was originally constructed in 1903. Today, the restaurant is one of the most popular destinations in the neighborhood.

Designed in collaboration between Gene Kaufman Architect and RAAD Studios and developed by Sang Lee, Noviprop, and Plus Development, the 120-foot-tall structure will yield 30,000 square feet of office space and ground-floor retail at the corner of Eighth Avenue and West 14th Street.

Anthony Landi of the 166-168-170 Mulberry Street HDFC is listed as the owner behind the applications.
