Construction Wraps Up on 167 Chrystie Street on Manhattan’s Lower East Side

Work is wrapping up on 167 Chrystie Street, a 16-story residential building on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Designed by ODA Architects and developed by Be-Aviv and Nexus Building Development Group, Inc., the 77,000-square-foot, 170-foot-tall structure will yield 78 units, averaging 680 square feet apiece, as well as 4,600 square feet of ground-floor retail space. Danya Cebus Construction LLC is the general contractor for the project, which is being built between Rivington Street to the north and Delancey Street to the south, and Sara D. Roosevelt Park across Chrystie Street to the east.

14 Second Avenue Begins Ascent Over The East Village, Manhattan

Construction is rising on 14 Second Avenue, a ten-story residential building in the East Village. Designed by David Cutler of Hustvedt Cutler Architects and developed by Daniel Vislocky of Station Companies, the 100-foot-tall, 22,247-square-foot development will yield ten units averaging 1,685 square feet apiece. The property is also expected to have two cellar levels and a 30-foot-long rear yard. New Empire Building Corporation is the general contractor for the project, which is narrowly wedged between First State Green Cultural Park and a row of low-rise buildings between East Houston and East 1st Streets.

Ronald O. Perelman Performing Arts Center’s Marble Façade Begins Installation in Financial District, Manhattan

The first marble panels have begun to cover the Ronald O. Perelman Performing Arts Center, a 138-foot-tall cubic structure on the World Trade Center site in the Financial District. Designed by REX with Davis Brody Bond Architects as the executive architect and developed by non-profit company The Perelman, the venue is located between Skidmore Owings & Merrill‘s One World Trade Center to the west, Vesey Street to the north, Fulton Street to the south, and Greenwich Street to the east.

141 East Houston Street’s Glass Façade Revealed from Scaffolding on Manhattan’s Lower East Side

Exterior work is nearing completion on 141 East Houston Street, a ten-story mixed-use building on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Designed by Roger Ferris + Partners for East End Capital and K Property Group, the 68,000-square-foot structure will yield offices and retail space on the ground floor and two cellar levels. CM & Associates is the general contractor for the property, which is located between Forsyth Street to the west and Eldridge Street to the east on a plot formerly occupied by the Sunshine Cinema.

55 Suffolk Street’s Superstructure Rises Above Street Level on Manhattan’s Lower East Side

Construction is rising on 55 Suffolk Street, a 30-story mixed-use building on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Designed by Dattner Architects and developed by Gotham Organization, the 310-foot-tall structure is part of the two-building Broome Street Development complex along with the 16-story 64 Norfolk Street. The complex will span 387,223 square feet and yield 488 rental units, of which 43 percent will be dedicated to permanently affordable housing. Monadnock Construction, Inc. is the general contractor for both developments, which are being built near the intersection of Broome and Norfolk Streets.

Gotham Point’s 57-Story ‘Parcel F’ Tops Out in Hunters Point South, Queens

Construction has topped out on Parcel F, a 57-story 559-foot tall skyscraper in the Gotham Point development in Hunters Point South, Queens. Designed by Handel Architects and developed by Gotham Organization, RiseBoro Community Partnership, Goldman Sachs Urban Investment Group, and the Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD), the reinforced concrete structure will yield 689 units alongside a 1,100-seat Intermediate High School built by the School Construction Authority, and Parcel G, its 33-story, 336-foot tall, 443-unit sibling. Gotham Point is located at the confluence of the East River and Newtown Creek, bound by Center Boulevard to the north, 56th Avenue to the east, and 57th Avenue to the west. Handel Architects is also the interior designer while BHDM did the interior for the model apartment only.

232 East Broadway Tops Out Over Manhattan’s Lower East Side

Construction has topped out on 232 East Broadway, a 26-story residential tower on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Designed by S4Architecture and developed by The Ascend Group with Suffolk Construction as the general contractor, the property is located by the corner of East Broadway and Clinton Street and is among the tallest structures in the vicinity.

Two Bridges Associates Files Permits for 71-Story Skyscraper at 265 South Street on the Lower East Side

Permits have been filed for a 71-story mixed-use skyscraper with affordable Housing at 265 South Street in Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Located adjacent to Rutgers Park between Jefferson Street and Frank T. Modica Way, the lot was previously addressed as 260 South Street. Four blocks north of the site is the East Broadway subway station, serviced by the F train. Two Bridges Associates L.P., a partnership between L+M Development Partners and the CIM Group, is listed as the owner behind the applications.

145 Bowery, aka Moxy Lower East Side, Tops Out on Manhattan’s Lower East Side

Construction has topped out on the Moxy Lower East Side at 145 Bowery, an 18-story hotel building on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Designed by Stonehill & Taylor Architects and developed by The Lightstone Group, the 193-foot-tall structure will yield 127,000 square feet with 303 guest rooms, averaging 200 square feet apiece. Leeding builders Group, LLC is the general contractor for the project, which is located at the corner of Broome Street and Bowery.

Affordable Housing Lottery Launches for 111 Varick Street in Hudson Square, Manhattan

The affordable housing lottery has launched for 111 Varick Street, a 30-story residential building in Hudson Square, Manhattan. Designed by S9 Architecture with interiors by Chris Shao Studio and developed by Extended, the structure yields 100 residences in a mix of studio, one-, and two-bedroom layouts. Available on NYC Housing Connect are 30 units for residents at 70 to 130 percent of the area median income (AMI), ranging in eligible income from $48,343 to $167,570.
