Exterior work is continuing on 450 Eleventh Avenue, a 51-story hotel skyscraper in Hudson Yards. Designed by DSM Design Group and developed by Marx Development Group, the 642-foot-tall structure will yield 379 guest rooms, a business center, a ballroom, and a fourth-floor restaurant with a bar and outdoor terrace. Atria Builders is the general contractor for the project, which is located at the corner of West 37th Street and Eleventh Avenue, directly across from the Jacob K. Javits Center.

Foundations Underway for Extell’s 403 East 79th Street on Manhattan’s Upper East Side

Foundation work is underway at 403 East 79th Street, the site of a 30-story medical office building in the Yorkville section of Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by Perkins Eastman and developed by Extell Development Company, the structure will yield 400,000 square feet of Class A offices and retail space on the ground floor and cellar levels. The Hospital for Special Surgery has signed on as the anchor tenant and will occupy 200,000 square feet across the first eight stories. Ancora Engineering is the engineer of record and Lendlease is the general contractor for the property, which is alternatively addressed as 1522 First Avenue and located between East 79th and East 80th Streets.

Repair work is set to begin on 18-20 Christopher Street, a pair of derelict two-story homes in Greenwich Village, Manhattan. Owned by Nazarian Property Group, the structures have been issued an order to vacate from the Department of Buildings and currently stand in a state of significant disrepair. The townhomes at 18-20 Christopher Street were constructed in 1827 and are located between Gay Street to the east and Waverly Place to the west.

Exterior work is closing in on completion on the Ronald O. Perelman Performing Arts Center at the 16-acre World Trade Center site in the Financial District of Lower Manhattan. Designed by REX with Davis Brody Bond Architects as the executive architect and developed by The Perelman, the 138-foot-tall marble-clad structure is bound by Vesey Street to the north, Fulton Street to the south, Greenwich Street to the east, and Skidmore Owings & Merrill‘s One World Trade Center to the west.

Construction has passed the halfway mark on 250 East 83rd Street, a 31-story residential building in the Yorkville section of Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by SLCE Architects and developed by The Torkian Group, the 370-foot-tall structure will yield 128 residential units with interiors by Lemay_id, as well as ground-floor retail space. Cauldwell Wingate Company is the general contractor for the property, which is located at the corner of Second Avenue and East 83rd Street.
