Construction continues to rise on 50 West 66th Street, a 69-story residential skyscraper on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. Designed by Snøhetta with SLCE Architects as the executive architect and developed by Extell and Tennor Holding, the 775-foot-tall structure will yield 127 condominium units and stand as the tallest building on the Upper West Side. Lendlease is the general contractor for the project, which is located on an interior lot between Columbus Avenue and Central Park West with frontage on both West 65th and West 66th Streets.

Designed by Francisco Nunez of Studio Gallos and developed by Gabriel Grunblatt under the 61 Metropolitan LLC, the 74-foot-tall structure will span 24,257 square feet and yield 24 rental units with an average scope of 704 square feet, as well as 245 square feet of community facility space, a cellar level, and a 32-foot-long rear yard. G Group Associates is the general contractor for the property, which is located on an interior lot between Kent Avenue to the north and Wythe Avenue to the south.

Below-grade work is progressing at 161 Meserole Avenue, the site of an eight-story residential building in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Designed by Kao Hwa Lee Architect P.C. and developed by SH Meserole LLC, which purchased the 15,390-square-foot plot for $2 million, the structure will replace three low-rise structures and yield an undisclosed number of units. Blue Shine Builder INC is the general contractor the project, which is located at the corner of Meserole Avenue and McGuinness Boulevard.

Designed by Handel Architects and developed by Park Tower Group along with Greenpoint Landing Associates, New York City’s Housing Preservation & Development (HPD), and the Housing Development Corporation (HDC), the structure will yield 374 permanently affordable apartments and 7,600 square feet of lower-level retail space. Monadnock Construction is the general contractor for the property, which is bound by Commercial and Clay Streets to the south and Bell Slip to the west.

Designed by GF55 Architects and developed and built by Artimus Construction, the 214-foot-tall structure will span 174,951 square feet and yield 160 rental units, with 40 reserved for affordable housing, as well as 15,657 square feet of commercial space. The project stands on a formerly vacant plot bound by Park Avenue, and East 126th and East 127th Streets.
