Foundation work is underway at 79 Quay Street, the site of an 11-story residential building in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Designed by Strekte Architects and developed by Harry Einhorn of Einhorn Development Group under the 79 Quay Plaza LLC, the 114-foot-tall structure will span 92,390 square feet and yield 140 rental units with an average scope of 701 square feet, as well as 1,287 square feet of commercial space and a cellar level. Bushwick Inlet Park Takes Shape Along Waterfront in Williamsburg, Brooklyn

Work is progressing on the expansion of Bushwick Inlet Park in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Designed by Abel Bainnson Butz, LLP and developed by the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation and the non-profit group Friends of Bushwick Inlet Park, the $9.8 million project involves the transformation of a two-acre parcel known as Motiva at the northernmost end of the waterfront park. Construction broke ground in March on the property, which had formerly sat unutilized and overgrown, and environmental remediation efforts are being undertaken in parallel with the park’s construction. The park is being created as part of the nearly 40-acre Greenpoint-Williamsburg Open Space Master Plan and is bound by Quay Street to the north and Franklin Street to the east.

Demolition work has concluded at 201 East 23rd Street, the site of a 19-story residential building in Kips Bay, Manhattan. Developed by Naftali Group, which acquired the property in a 99-year ground lease for $21.5 million last September, the 210-foot-tall structure will span 111,000 square feet and yield 69 units, likely condominiums, as well as ground-floor retail space. The property is alternately addressed as 301 Third Avenue and is situated at the intersection of Third Avenue and East 23rd Street.

Demolition Wraps Up at 1710 Broadway in Midtown, Manhattan

Demolition is finishing up at 1710 Broadway, the site of a proposed 54-story, 673-unit hotel in Midtown, Manhattan. The project is being developed by Riu Hotels and Resorts, which purchased the parcel from Extell Development for $173 million in 2023 after the latter had acquired 360,000 of air rights for the property shortly before purchasing it for $268 million in 2017. The site has 129 feet of street frontage and is located at the corner of Broadway and West 54th Street.
