Construction has risen past the halfway mark on The Sunlight, a 17-story mixed-use building at 138-18 Northern Boulevard in Flushing, Queens. Designed by FXCollaboeative with HPL Engineeringas the architect of record, and developed by Sunlight Development, the 197-foot-tall structure will span approximately 300,000 square feet and yield 127 condominium units with an average scope of 740 square feet, as well as 65,000 square feet of community facility space, 47,000 square feet of retail, a 30-foot-long rear yard, and 287 enclosed parking spaces. Jingang Northern LLC is listed as the owner of the property, which is located on an interior lot between Bowne and Union Streets.

Phase One of Willets Point Development Rises in Willets Point, Queens

Construction has risen past the halfway mark on the first phase of the Willets Point redevelopment, a two-building residential project in Willets Point, Queens. Designed by S9Architecture and developed by the New York City Economic Development Corporation, the 12-story structures will rise from shared one-story podium and will yield 880 affordable units in one building and 220 affordable senior units in the other. The project is located on an approximately six-acre plot bound by Willets Point Boulevard to the northwest, Roosevelt Avenue to the south, and Flushing Creek to the east.

Foundation work is getting underway at 501 East 81st Street, the site of a forthcoming ten-story residential building in the Yorkville section of Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Designed by Zproekt Architecture and developed by Rybak Development, the 100-foot-tall structure is planned to span 29,829 square feet with an undisclosed number of units, likely condominiums based on the design firm’s history in the neighborhood.
